Cute little restaurant. Manager/cook has a chip on his shoulder. Server was not attentive. I should have realized the food wasn't going to be good when we were the only patrons. I ordered the 2lb pickup package of brisket. That was my mistake, I should have requested a sample first. It was dry, tough to chew, and had a burnt flavor instead of smoky. Like something fell into the smoker and burned up (you know the flavor when something falls on the bottom of the oven and smokes up the the kitchen) There is no smoke ring. It wasn't cut properly for a brisket. Brisket is supposed to be cut across the grain. I believe in reality that it was Chuck roast of select quality at best and the meat was pulled (like pulled pork) from the roast. I asked the waitress about it saying is didn't taste very good. She sent out the manager who started out combative just came out and said, "The Brisket is cooked exactly the way it's supposed to be!" I wonder which instructions he was following. The instructions should say that you are supposed to start with brisket, not Chuck roast. I said it was a bit tough, and had a burnt flavor. I thought he would offer to take it back to the kitchen. He asked if I could see anything burnt. Of course they would cut anything burnt from the meat. I wanted to send it back because it wasn't edible. He refused. I asked, "What am I supposed to do with this?" He said, "Take it home and feed it to your dog!" I said, "I'm sorry, my dogs wouldn't eat it!" (My dogs wouldn't eat this, they are used to good food.) I left the food behind. I was charged full price for inedible food. The three other people with me commented that the "brisket" meat tasted burnt and was very tough. They said that the manager was extremely rude. The mushrooms were very good. The baked beans were good. The macaroni and cheese tasted good, but was mac soup today. The corn bread, was good, the pig Wings were good, the chicken was just ok. The iced tea was excellent. See the photo, it sure does NOT look anything like a brisket.

A Hidden Gem with Heartwarming Vibes! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My recent visit to Porkies was an absolute delight, and I can't help but share the love for this hidden gem! From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with a quaint and cozy atmosphere that set the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The owner, Jakes', passion for what he does shines through every aspect of the restaurant. His personable nature made us feel right at home, and it's evident that he genuinely loves his customers and is dedicated to creating a welcoming space. The attention to detail in the decor and ambiance adds an extra layer of charm, making it a top-notch spot for anyone seeking a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Now, let's talk about the barbecue – it's nothing short of phenomenal! Each dish is crafted with care, and the flavors are a testament to the owner's dedication to his craft. The menu boasts a variety of options that cater to different tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone. Whether you're a barbecue aficionado or just looking for a tasty meal, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend Porkies to anyone who appreciates good food, a warm atmosphere, and the genuine passion of a dedicated owner. It's a true gem in the local dining scene, and I can't wait for my next visit to savor more delicious bites and soak in the heartwarming vibes.

Definitely not the 2 pounds of brisket I ordered was definitely chuck roast cooked like pot roast with their bbq sauce no smoke ring could be seen and picture says 1000 words brisket is not chuck roast if you feel like wasting your time and money eat here! I’ve had better veggie burgers better than their pot roast I mean brisket hopefully the family won’t recommend it while visiting again I’d rather Wendy burger over their brisket to be fair all I had was their so called brisket but was basically smothered in their awesomeness sauces but meat was very dissatisfying wasn’t a real bbq taste more slow cooker boiled taste won’t go their on my accord again By the way it should be false advertising if you say it’s a specific cut it should be that not something different chuck roast is not brisket and that’s two pounds of it for dinner the four of us all agree not experts but was definitely not brisket and was a chuck roast or something else do not recommend it to anyone After reading how the owner and management responded to other peoples issues and see how rude they actually are to real reviews I changed from 2 stars to 1 hopefully they go out of business sooner than later til then there are plenty of better real bbq places all over even your kids school lunch is cooked better

Liz treated me like an employee picking up a $150 order for a friend.

Arrived at the front door, two people in the small entryway, so I waited at the open door. One of the women left (Liz) so I stood there for another minute then decided to step inside. There was an open window where it looked like people might pick up food. A man on the other side of the window asked if he could help me, I said I was there to pick up an order. He asked for the name, I gave it to him, and he went away.

Then Liz came back and asked if she could help me in a way that made me feel like I was trespassing. I told her I was there to pick an order and that I told the man behind the window. She then told me, "You don't tell them, (pointing to the window), you talk to us", and pointed further into the building in what looked like it could be a dining room. Then she asked me to stand outside to wait for my order.

So after being outside for five minutes or so, she brings out an empty aluminum tray, with a holder and some warming fuel. She tells me instructions that she said she already told the person that ordered it and said the order would be ready in a little while. So I stood out in the sun, holding an empty chafing dish waiting for my order. It took 15 min for them to bring out the order so obviously it was not ready when they said it would be.

Luckily, with two great options for BBQ nearby, BBQ King and Moontime Smokin' Que, I don't...
