TLDR: THE WORST BAR LIVES UP TO ITS NAME, PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE Server had an attitude problem before most of my party showed up. Sending me dirty glances like it was such a big inconvinience for some reason. They had a scowl and were very short and uninviting while taking orders, was not patient or kind with me at all as I was seeking help finding filling vegan options... When all our food came, my grilled cheese looked like two pieces of bread resting on top of eachother. I had asked about the dish and the server explained with much dismay what the ingredients were and the portion size, so I was pretty surprised when I opened up the sandwich and saw a partially melted, single piece of cheese. (See photo) The "grilled" cheese was completely cold. Not even a little bit warm, btw. The server was so rude with everything before, I didnt have the courage to send the food back, instead I just asked for some more cheese. They didnt offer the cheese which came in the dish, so they brought out two cold slices of mozzarella on a plate. They didnt ask how the food was to any of us, never asked if we needed anything more, just left and didnt come back until they brought the check. Well she was frustrated to have to go back and separate the bill after she brought us only one (seriously why is it such a hassle, if its a large group, ask first...such a rookie move) and my bill had the extra cheese as an extra charge. I had to wait for a long time after my friends had left for our server to come back out...they were mysteriously absent after they collected everyone else's check...so after talking to another one of the staff to try and get a hold of our server, and waiting some more...I had to explain and stand my ground about the cheese situation...and of course the server couldnt do anything, they said I had to talk with the manager...but they were busy...so I had to wait even longer. When the manager finally came over, with irritation (honestly why do people choose to work in the service industry if they have issue with being of basic help? This is not hard, and YES we can ALL read your body language, and hear tones of voice, none of you are fooling anyone but yourselves) I had to yet again muster up the courage to defend myself, and didnt have the nerve to ask for the whole meal to be comped, but I said I for sure was not paying the extra cheese charge. Soooo I waited more time for the manager to slowly bring up a new bill, I paid cash, of course an inconvinience and they had to walk somewhere else for change (who the hell doesnt keep change on them in front of house, other than the host?) so of course I waited again... I'm pretty sure I only left what coins I was brought for a tip, and even that pained me. So more than 20! minutes after my friends left, I finally met up with them in time to miss all the conversation and say goodbye. I was also still very much hungry. I made myself a meal when I got home. Why anyone eats out these days is beyond me. Yet another review explaining how the Worst Bar earned its name.

Mannnn, I used to love this place. I've been going to wurst since it opened. It used to be such a fun place to visit on a Friday night but in the last few years I've given it countless chances to make up for what is consistently bad food anymore. Tonight I had family in town visiting and we ordered take out from wurst. The attention to detail is abysmal. I ordered the chick fu which in it's hayday was such a great meat free option. They changed the recipe years ago and it's never been the same. Today's hot chick fu was probably the worst I've ever had. So crumbly, just generally bad, and after telling the person on the phone that it was fine if the bun wasn't vegan didn't show up with one at all. We had one person in our party that was happy with the food, the rest of the entrees were over cooked, under seasoned, messy, and generally not cared for at all. I was embarrassed I suggested it in the first place. I think I've given wurst its last chance in my book. My nostalgia kept me coming back but after being disappointed time and time again, I think it's time to pull the plug and stop pretending wurst bar is a decent late night option in Ypsilanti.

I am not sure if the waiter's name was Phil or Bill but he was excellent. It was our first time there and my husband tried the BBLT which is a Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich with a Braut on it. Talk about huge! It is served on Texas Toast. Tator Tots several different ways is your choice of potatoes. I had Poutine Tots, and they are very flavorful, with a Party Melt. They grind beef brisket in house for all their burgers. With all that said, You would think I would give it five stars. Not. I am taking one star off for stating on the chalkboard that I have to sanitize my table before I leave! Really? So if the person who sat there before me didn't do it, that means the table isn't washed? When you're done eating the dishes are still on the table, how can you wash it? I don't know, it was not classy at all to have bottles of sanitizer sitting on all the tables with a roll of paper towels. Very tacky!! I am taking away another star for all the fabric on the booths being torn very badly. How can you possibly wash it properly? Again, tacky.

I’m not sure how this place is open. No one wanted to work while I was in there. It all started with drinks, my drink from the bar was out right away, my husband took awhile because they had to change the syrup for the soda, that was so to much apparently because 10 mins later he was asked did he want something else. Then 10 mins again went by we got a new server she was even less thrilled to be there. She took our order, went in back from a while, then I think a few mins later she decided to put the actual order in the computer. Idk. Then once getting the food it must of been done a while because when we got it was half cold. Like it sat. We ate and asked for the check, as she went by us a dozen times finally decided she could print it. I believe no one wanted to work that day. I have pictures of them just sitting at the bar watching tv. What great management. 0/5 not recommend save your money and time

Hip Saloon offers a delightful and adventurous culinary journey with its unique array of homemade sausage flavors, ranging from the familiar to the exotic. From bison to alligator, each bite is a flavorful exploration that tantalizes the taste buds. The addition of craft beer enhances the experience, although the beer menu being exclusively on a board might pose a slight challenge in making a selection. The convenience of street paid parking is offset by the perk of free parking after 6pm, allowing patrons to relax and enjoy their meal without rushing. The staff’s friendly demeanor and prompt service contribute to a pleasant dining atmosphere. A highlight of the visit was the exceptional quality of fries – a true treat for the palate. Hip Saloon strikes a balance between novelty and comfort, making it a recommended spot for those seeking a memorable and satisfying dining outing.

The food here is absolutely 5 stars, but when you factor in the uncomfortable, torn up seats and the really long wait time for the kitchen to prepare your order it loses a couple. That being said the menu is eclectic and exciting, it is definitely worth the wait when ordering because it's that good. I ordered the brat burger on a pretzel bun, (had a different name though) nacho tots for app, which were amazing and my buddy got the stuffed mushrooms for his app and a spicy brat for main course. Those mushrooms were hands down the best stuffed mushrooms I've ever had and my burger set a new high bar for how a burger should be. His brat looked amazing and he throughly enjoyed it. Amazing food. Our waitress was ok, she tried her best I suppose. Bathroom was kinda run down, but it is a bar after all. Will definitely be back next time I'm in yipsy
