Mây Vegan Garden — Restaurant in Hà Nội

We ordered a vegan pizza from this place which is literally called "vegan garden" and the pizza was called "vegan"pizza. It came out and smelled and looked suspiciously like dairy cheese. We asked the waiter and he reassured us it was vegan and not cow cheese, we asked what it was made of and he said he went and asked the chef then came back and said various soy/plant milk. I asked again is he sure because I have a dairy allergy and could go to hospital if it's not. He again reassured us that the chef himself is vegan and they make their own cheese, it is just really good. My partner ate half the pizza and I reluctantly had a few bites but still wasn't convinced. The waiter then came back and asked "did you say you have an allergy?", I said yes. He then proceeded to tell me that it was in fact dairy cow cheese. I have never ever had this experience before in a "vegan" restaurant, they need to change their name to vegetarian. We arrived at an awkward time, about 15:00. I think the staff must have been clearing after the lunch rush. This meant that there was nobody to receive us at the reception area. When we did manage to get somebody's attention, they were super friendly. The food here is incredible, and the staff are lovely, if a little shy. I highly recommend the pho xa xiu. The broth was like nothing I've tasted before, simply delicious. The room was clean and cool. The pricing was rather low given the standard, just £1.60 (one pound sixty pence)...

We went the first time at lunchtime, the place was empty, service ok, food good. We went a second time at dinner time. We waited 40min for the 1st dish. When the food arrived they still hadn’t brought us bowls, chopsticks, or even the drinks we had ordered. We had to order the drinks 3 times because the 2 first times they had “run out” of it.
