Good Morning Vietnam is a delightful Tuscan-style trattoria in the heart of Hoi An, tucked just inside the pedestrian zone during car-free hours. We arrived right at opening (5 PM) and walked straight in—no wait needed.
We began with their signature wood-fired pizzas: impossibly thin, crackly-edged crust supporting just the right amount of fresh tomato and mozzarella—5 / 5 for food quality and taste. Next came silky pastas, cooked perfectly al dente and bathed in rich, flavorful sauces—5 / 5 for presentation and variety. The pan-seared sea bass was served on a bed of diced tomato and roasted potatoes; its delicate, flaky fillets seasoned with Mediterranean herbs made for a standout dish—5 / 5 for value and overall taste.
Service was outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu—5 / 5 for friendliness and efficiency. The atmosphere is cozy yet airy, with soft lighting that keeps noise levels comfortable for conversation—5 / 5 for ambiance (noise level 4 / 5). The dining room and restrooms were spotless, reflecting excellent attention to cleanliness—5 / 5. Seating was comfortable, though the wooden chairs can feel a bit firm after a long meal—4 / 5 for comfort. Our order arrived promptly and exactly as requested—5 / 5 for speed and accuracy.
Parking is easy just outside the pedestrian zone, and the restaurant’s location makes it a convenient stop on any Hoi An itinerary. We were pleased to learn they’ve since opened a second branch in Da Nang—5 / 5 for transport convenience and overall location.
Overall rating: 5 / 5. We’ll happily return—and recommend Good Morning Vietnam Italian to anyone craving authentic thin-crust pizza, hearty pastas, or perfectly cooked seafood in Hoi An (and now also...
Read moreBeing in Vietnam for 2 weeks we started missing some pizza comfort food and wanted to seek out what we can find in old town Hoi An. Searched around and found Good Morning Vietnam and we both regretted not looking sooner for this establishment as it was absolutely delicious, so good we came back 3 times!
Upon entering, we were greeted very kindly by the female staffs and could see the two owners hard at work in the back. The menu looked extensive and every option for food, drinks and dessert sounded delicious. You'll also get complimentary breadaticks
Ham and Mushroom : Fresh, delicious and simple. The sauce was delicious along with the imported ham and mushrooms. Great umami flavour from the mushrooms!
Capricciosa: Another great pizza choice. Every thing on the pizza just complimented each other bite after bite.
Pepperoni: Great classic pizza, the pepperoni were perfection. Wasn't so heavy and just make you feel like back at home grabbing a quick pepperoni Za slice to go.
Have to mention the crust is just too good. It’s like eating a slice of heaven and that’s what really makes this pizza place top tier. There’s nothing worse than eating pizza where you just feel the dough sitting in your stomach for hours after. This is not even close.
Big thanks to the owner for the complimentary limoncello!
Because this place is so popular, you can expect long waits at times. The pizzas are light but savoury and pack with flavours. I would strongly recommend this place if you miss pizza and happen to be in old...
Read moreMy partner and I visited this Italian restaurant during our stay in Hoi An. It was my first time, but he had been here years ago and had fond memories of this place, so we decided to return and enjoy something different from Vietnamese food.
We ordered a pizza and pasta with eggplant. The pizza was good, with a generous amount of ingredients and authentic flavor. However, the pasta didn’t meet our expectations.
The most unfortunate part of our experience was the service from the waitress who attended to us. From the beginning, she showed a complete lack of interest in customer service. We asked for recommendations, and with little enthusiasm, she told us to just look at the menu, spending most of the time on her phone, not paying attention.
Fortunately, towards the end, a young waiter took over, and he was quite friendly, which slightly improved our experience.
In summary, I would recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a change and want to enjoy Italian food in Hoi An. However, be aware that you might encounter poor service depending on who attends to you, and...
