Found this beach while exploring the island with a local I met (who's never explored this part of the island either). It was quite a little adventure to find this beach. I followed the GPS as close as I could which ultimately terminates on a private road with dirt roads/paths continuing on. I parked my car since I didn't want to try driving in the rental on the unpaved roads. After 15 minutes or so of wandering down the dirt paths, it spits you out here. My biggest regret of my trip was not bringing food/drink and my folding chair and just hanging out longer. We ended up hiking the rocks near the hotel, and exploring the other side of the peninsula to watch the waves explode on the rugged coast. Still awesome, but boy is this a once in a lifetime beach. It's hard to get to, but that's a good thing. It means you will likely have the beach to yourself and a very nice reward for the driving/exploring/hiking you will need to do to discover this beach.

You must come here! Lovely local oceanfront spot run by Nat and his wife for 30 years. Just the loveliest people ever. No one is here and my wife and I are loving the place. Great food cooked by Nat. And a 15 min hike brings you to Captains Bay, the prettiest beach I've ever seen. Highly recommend, even for us long time beach affectionados. We parked, walked over to Captains Bay and swam and then walked back to an incredible lunch. If you want the real deal, this is it.

We drove all the way to the beach in our Jeep rental. The "road" gets really narrow about 100 yards from the beach and bushes drag on the car but it is totally worth it. We were the only people on the beach all day. There is literally no one there. The other reviews are right. There is not much shade so plan accordingly. We did not

I tried to get here in a rented Nissan March but had to park half way down the unpaved road and walk the rest. It’s not too far of a walk and can be done in flip flops, although trainers might be a better option. You can probably drive the entire road in a 4x4. The beach itself is just beautiful. We were the only people there and it was like a slice of heaven. I attempted to swim but the waves are quite rough, so wouldn’t recommend for snorkelling, but a quick dip might be ok. But sitting back on the sand, with only your own footprints around, is really quite something. Take your own water and food as there are no amenities in the vicinity, but totally...

We parked at Palm Grove restaurant and hiked over to Captain’s bay - 30 mins/1.8km one way. Used AllTrails to navigate as it shows the trails/diet roads to get there, otherwise I might have gotten lost - there are a few crisscrossing tracks. Terrain is dirt & small rocks, and a sharp limestone section at the beach. Suggest you wear tevas or sneakers. Hot and exposed on sunny days. Food at Palm Grove is decent, but nothing special. It’s a small operation so you’ll wait a bit for food so put your order in early then walk the beach. It took just under an hr to get our food. They tacked on 18% service charge. $58USD for 2...
