Stopping to pay cash, I "dared" say "Five bucks for the Great State of California". We arrived at the bridge just after sunset, unpacked the car, and settled into our spot. We intentionally didn't plan any events the first night because we knew we'd be tired (smart move!). Day two we enjoyed an early morning stroll on the walkway and had fun counting light poles. By day three we really felt like we belonged and everyone started to settle into their routines. While driving up Interstate 680 and crossing the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, you can look across Suisun Bay and see our Reserve fleet and reflect on a little bit of our Navy’s history.
