Used to be one of my favorite spots in the San Antonio area, but they recently changed the hours to 8am to 5pm (used to be sunrise to sunset). Good luck finding the time to make it out there after work I guess…. Update: Looks like they changed it back to sunrise to sunset. Still gorgeous and beautiful views from the crest of the Jon Allen trail

Very enjoyable park for an afternoon walk. There were several trails well marked and maintained. There were a few alcoves with benches to relax and birdwatch. Texas native plants abound. A meadow was being restored so plantings were sparse. One of the cleanest, well maintained park I have been to in San Antonio!

I take my clients here for photo shoots. This place is such a beautiful gateway from the city. And the visitors who frequent the park truly care about it as I have not seen much if any liter. If you visit this park please take care of it. It truly is beautiful! @LizaMPhotography

Rough, beautiful natural hiking area with some trails. Post of the scenic loop in Grey Forest. Located between Helotes and San Antonio and is a restricted Texas Park and Wildlife Park as well as part of Edwards Aquifer Authority. Areas are under restoration. Stay on trails, pack in and pack out, don't pick flowers, break branches or take natural items. Enjoy the rugged beauty and leave nothing behind.
