Longleaf Shelter — Attraction in North Carolina

Very serene, especially during the week days. Also shady, which matters in the summer.

This park is very large and has the best fishing in the whole area.

Quick story: I was once fishing and I had a guy in a wet suit and a SPEAR GUN come popping up from under the water. He proceeded to climb in on the Pier and casually pull a giant 40 out of his suit. Then rant about how the fish kept running away from him. The cops were later called because I don't think he was allowed to have the spear gun in the park yet alone go swimmin.

Great place for a summer picnic. Big clean shelter, with a scenic view of the lake. Ample parking available. There is kids play area, volleyball area and other open areas.
