This is a must for all ages and is a magical place Well worth the walk to the top falls, no photos online can really show you how magnificently beautiful it is. the sound of water cascading is pleasant and every where you look is green and blue and itâs just a paradise.
you need reef shoes to walk up the track and climb the cascades smoothly (one guy went back to his car to get his after getting 3/4 of the way he couldnât go further sore feet & he did come back wearing them) the pools in the lower half are beautiful and gorgeous enough if your on a really tight budget. but the top water fall is just breathtaking and the quantity of negative ions from the water is soul cleansing, and worth the extra $. take a garbage bag to the top and bring all your rubbish back there are no bins at the top and be a good boy scout and bring atleast one or two pieces back to the bins at the bottom. for the most part itâs clean but no one is looking after the cleanliness except us boy scouts, i brought back two hand fulls of plastic wrappers and bottles and that made a huge difference to how it looks. i wish i had a large garbage bag (iâll be carrying one spare in my back pack from now on so i can help keep these places of wonder magic for when you arrive) No food or drinks available so bring your packed lunch and plenty of drinking water (take your bottle and put it in the bins at the bottom donât leave them at the top...
Read moreA group of 7 of us visited the waterfalls today and we were pleasantly surprised by the waterfall! We paid $40 each to get in to both areas as we were a group however the normal price is $60 per person! The bottom area seemed alright however we didn't really spend much time there as we spent it up at the waterfall (probably not worth going just for the bottom pool bit) ! You can climb right up to the bottom of the waterfall however I would say you need to be quite physically agile to do so. I would say you would need around 2 hours there if you were wanting to walk to the waterfall and spend a bit of time there!
BE CAREFUL OF YOUR BELONGINGS!!
As we were up at the top and in the water unfortunately someone did go through our bags on the side and stole a phone from one bag and some cash from 2 other bags! We are not sure if this happens often however there were not that many people there today (approximately 5 other groups) so please just be aware!
I think there are lockers at the bottom pool area when you enter which in hindsight we should of obviously used so it would probably be good to do so...
Read moreNothing else I can say but WOW!! What a great day.
We booked a tour with Evergreen Tours who picked us up at our hotel.
The tour guide was amazing and he has grown up at the waterfall and has heaps of stories to tell and some cool tricks using the native plants.
There are 89 steps up the mountain to get to the top and itâs about 800m of track. Take insect repellent, sunscreen, swimmers, towel and water.
There are 5 different places to swim and you start at the top at the waterfall and then make your way down the mountain where you can swim in all the other areas (and jump off a few rock ledges if you feel the urge). Thereâs a hidden cave behind the waterfall which is pretty cool to swim into.
A great platter of local food was waiting for us at the bottom of the mountain while we waited for the transfer to arrive.
A really great day and well worth booking a tour. You can also hire a car and do the walk on your own if you want and I think there is an entrance fee when you arrive but if you book the tour, the fee is included.
I would have done it again...
