My first time. Came here for my birthday. Perfect place to bring the fam.

There's plenty of grass space for outdoor activities like football, volleyball and etc. A nice little playground for the kiddies. Placed between the grassy area, lake, and near the restrooms. So you can def keep an eye on your little ones for the most part.

Towards the lake, there's a little bit of sand space for about (at max) 8-10 small groups. The actual lake is decent in size, there's a low-setting dock where people, including myself, jumped off into the lake. Be mindful though when deciding on shoe-wear, lots of rocks. In most areas, the rocks were slimy, so becareful.

Restroom facilities were clean for the most part (so yes, you don't have to use a honey-bucket here #WINNING).

Parking was hard to find for my friends (they had to park in the over-flow lot). Understandable, for summer and a really hot weekend. I got lucky with the main parking lot. Overall a great place, for an easy day out with a small group of friends...

When the water is "clean" it's a fun spot to bring kids to swim. We were surprised that it wasn't overly crowded this last weekend. The park is pretty big with lots of grassy area. However not much grass area to sit on closest to the water. And not a ton of shade by the water either. I would suggest bringing a pop up tent or sun shade tent if you have one. The water area has sand/dirt to sit on so bring a beach towel or a blanket. There is lots of covered shelters here but none close to the water. I'm not sure if the snack shack ever opens anymore but they do have one. There is also a play ground but my kids didn't enjoy it much. It's aimed for kids maybe 4 to 8 in my opinion. They do have decent bathrooms here as well. They were mostly clean. I think I saw showers on the other side of the bathroom which would be great because that lake water can be gross (lake closes every few years due to bad bacteria. Tons of goose poop too). I will say this again though, this year the water...

Pulling in there in is a several rows of parking and handicapped spaces in each set of rows. Large grassy field lay before the playground leading to the lake. To the right there are tennis courts, a baseball field and a covered shelter. Playground area has benches and bathroom with running water and shower. Beach is sand/rock but not exactly the type you could make a sand castle with. It was very clean besides a bunch of feathers from the wildlife. To the left there is a small dock where people can fish and some teens were jumping off of it. Enough trees around to find some shade and a few picnic tables around as well. I will be back here for sure. My daughter loved it. The water was fairly clean, it has a brown gold tint, not sure what it's from but no debris other than from nature from what I saw for...

Nice park. Clean lake, bathrooms well stocked, beautifully taken care of lawns to set up picnics and a large play structure for kids. No lifeguard on duty but a nice little beach entry area to play in the water or put your paddle board in the lake. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of parking, which is difficult to find on a nice weekend and some people end up spilling over onto Military Road for parking.

Had a nice time swimming and barbecuing with family. Gets pretty busy. Bring a pop up Awning tent, a few camping chairs, cooler of ice cold goodies, roll-up asian mat, and you can post up any where. Main parking is a challenge but there's overflow parking if you don't mind walking after dropping off gear and someone to hold your picnic spot. Have fun, be safe and stay hydrated!
