Enjoyed the safari. 1. Quite far away. From civil lines MTDC, it was difficult to get an Ola - after couple of refusals, got one. Charged 300. 2. Booked 4 pm safari in AC bus, for weekend, it was, I think, 320 per head. Online booking. 3. From the counter, on producing the online booking slip, bus number was given. There was an obvious rush when the bus arrived; everyone wanted the best seat, without any COVID precautions, there was pushing and shouting… 4. The safari was quite enjoyable. Started with leopard safari, then herbivores, sloth bears, tigers. Had sightings for all, plus birds, deers, peacocks and so on. 5. 4-5 pm. When we returned, found the souvenir shop closed. Restaurant had exhausted all supplies. So, had nothing to do. Snapped few pics in front of gorewada signs and then left. 6. Most frightening thing- there was no conveyance in vicinity when we stepped out onto the highway. We were told by the guards that a starbus May be available to go to Birdie. But did not see a single one even after waiting for 15 min. Finally a auto rickshaw came to our rescue - charged 400 to go to dharampeth market. For a tourist like me, I didn’t realize we possibly needed to book a car for the trip. Overall ok experience. When zoo expands and communication improves, I’m sure a day trip would be great.

Gorewada zoo is well connected from nagpur, you can easily reach here via GPS. It is well maintained and premises are clean. It has a ticket booking counter which offers both AC and non AC buses at two different prices. You can book your ticket online as well. Better to book online to avoid unavailability at last minute and wait for next available bus for 30-40 mins atleast if you have a big group. Single ticket can be managed quickly. There is a canteen where you can get anything from tea to Chinese noodles. But it is overpriced. Not affordable.Service and quality of food is fine. Premises has a gift shop and a toy train which is for 70 per person. It will roam around the centre and cover 2-3 rounds. Everyone can sit in it including adults. Gorewada zoo has 4 safari which includes 2 tiger (lia and rajkumar), 4 leopards, 4 bears and many types of deers. It has many peacocks as well as other jungle animals. When you take a bus ride, it will be accompanied with a guide who gives you details about the safari. It hardly takes 10-12mins to cover each area. You can cover Total area in 30 mins max. Overall , gorewada zoo is a good place for children and family outing but nothing too exciting otherwise. This is also a school 1 day picnic spot.

During my visit to Gorewada Zoo, it felt like stepping into a world of wilderness and wonder. As I ventured through the sprawling, green expanse, the sheer variety of animals and the natural beauty of the surroundings left me in awe. Each step brought me closer to nature, with the sounds of birds chirping and the occasional rustle in the bushes reminding me how alive and vibrant the zoo truly was. The highlight of the trip was spotting majestic tigers and graceful deer in their semi-natural habitats. Observing these magnificent creatures so close gave me an overwhelming sense of satisfaction—being in their presence reminded me of the importance of preserving wildlife. The Gorewada Zoo isn't just a place for animals; it's a testament to nature's beauty and our role in protecting it. Every part of the experience felt like an adventure, from exploring the forested trails to marveling at the wide array of species. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement, a refreshing escape into the heart of nature.

One of a kind Zoo in Central India. This is a great place for a short escape. With over 7 leopards, 6-7 bears, dears, peacocks, 2 tigers and a lot of other animals, the safari gives you an amazing experience. The safari is divided in 4 stages and it takes about an hour and a half to complete the bus ride. Rest assured, you are sure to get sightings. Ticket Price - INR 240 (AC Bus) Timings - 7.30 am to 4.30 pm (Buses leave every half an hour) The zoo is operational on all the days except Monday. (Currently, due to COVID guidelines, it remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays) *There are no camera charges. *There's a restaurant in the premises. I personally loved the experience. The project is 30% built and a lot of things are under construction like African Safari, Snake Park, Theme Park and Amusement Park. The staff is helpful and the experience is hassle-free.
