【Expedition BAS (Baha–Ayam–Stong)|3D2N Hiking & Camping · Day 1】 We took an overnight bus from Kuala Lumpur and arrived at Dabong, Kelantan around 7:00 AM after several hours of travel. After a local breakfast, our long-awaited adventure officially began — entering Gunung Stong State Park! Today’s mission was to reach our campsite — Baha Camp. The hike from the trailhead was short, around 2 km, but with nearly 300 meters of elevation gain — a good warm-up for the days ahead. Along the way, we passed the base of the awe-inspiring Jelawang Waterfall, also known as Stong Waterfall. Standing at approximately 303 meters tall, it is one of the highest waterfalls in Southeast Asia — truly a majestic sight. After about 2 hours of hiking, we arrived at Baha Camp, located above the waterfall. Since it was still early, we had the whole day free to enjoy the area — swimming at the waterfall, taking photos, sipping tea, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the jungle. As night fell, we had our dinner at the campsite. Then we made our way to the nearby viewpoint for some stargazing and Milky Way photography. Being surrounded by mountains and staring up at a sky full of stars was truly a magical experience. And just like that, Day 1 came to a perfect end — a great start to an adventure that’s only just beginning!

During our short vacation in Dabong, this was the second stop our tour guide brought us to. This lookout point offers a scenic view of Stong Waterfall from afar, making it a great spot for quick sightseeing and photography. The view was beautiful, especially with the towering waterfall in the background. However, the day was hot and sunny, so we didn’t stay too long—less than 15 minutes—just enough to take some photos and appreciate the landscape. One thing we noticed was the lack of stalls or cafés nearby. A small coffee shop or refreshment stall facing the waterfall would have been a great addition for visitors to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more facilities to enhance the experience. Overall, it’s a nice stop for a quick visit, especially if you’re already exploring the area. Bring water and sun protection if visiting during midday!

As the tallest waterfall in the southeast Asia (correct me if I'm wrong), this place is quite scary. 😆 The place is not well maintained maybe because not so much tourist coming here. I came during weekdays so not many people are here. Only 3 people including me are there. I think they charge for the parking but there is nobody ask for the ticket. Overall I think this place need maintenance.

I admit more can be done. Such as facilities, information, shops and parking but the view is nice and lots of photo opportunity available but kudos for the effort. I would loved to have a coffee while enjoying this view and taking a breather

It's a good place to visit especially during summer, there's a parking slot near the gunung strong Statue, not so big but enough, I visit during weekends and holiday season not too crowded. Have ice sell in front.
