First time playing the course today and I was excited to play 18 holes. But disappointment set in very quickly when I saw how bad a shape the course was in. The grass in certain areas was shin high, the roughs are so deep you can't even find your ball if it rolls into the rough. The greens have so many divot holes it looks like somebody bombed a Runway at Pearl harbor. The grass around the greens look like I was playing out of my grandfather's backyard and he hadn't cut the grass in 2 weeks. Crabgrass everywhere around the greens. The starter set in his cart all day in the same spot and nobody rode around to speed up Pace of play. The pace was so slow we literally a group on the green, a group in the fairway, a group on the t-box and two groups waiting to tee off on the same hole. Nobody rode around to check on Pace of play. The little cart girl couldn't have been more rude to us and to the starter who she was talking to when we got there. She had an attitude about more people on the course than what she was told earlier in the day and she wanted to get off and she let it be known in front of all of us. Very unprofessional but nobody said a word to her to correct her. Definitely will not be coming back to this course when I can go play Mirror Lake or West Pines close to home. Both of those courses right now are in great shape and The Frog is just another public course where people don't wear golf shoes, don't rake out the traps (probably because the rakes were missing in most traps. And no one repairs a divot on the greens because the greens look like craters. Very disappointed, and if I was in charge, I would be ashamed to charge $90 for 18 holes when this course should charge no more than maybe $60. Even Creekside in Hiram is a better public course and $30 cheaper. Don't waste your money here.....go to Mirrior Lake or West Pines if you want to play...
Read moreI have played this course many times! It’s a very fun track. I played it yesterday and was very disappointed. As you will note in the pics the bunkers are deteriorating, fairways are unkept, leaves not blown, and there has been no substantial investment into a course that was once premier. The manager was gracious at our displeasure and provided us a really good concession. I think his name is JT… he’s a rockstar for management. Present, listener, respectful, and willing to help salvage the experience. He gets five stars. The food was excellent as always. They get five stars. The carts were good. They get four stars.
My recommendation: immediately put emphasis on what impacts the course… the bunkers and the leaves and the fairways. Greens were very good. Almost perfect. Hope this course can come back, it is indeed capable of becoming the jewel of...
Read moreHands down the most rude golf course staff I've ever met. The guy in the pro shop was an absolute nice guy, but when we were done we were confronted not only about ONE of our foursome on a 30deg day being in jeans and a single instance of one of our carts going off the path. Beforehand, we walked in, paid our @$100 each beforehand and nothing was said by the pro shop before our round. We also walked in and spent $25+ each for lunch at the turn, again, nothing was said by any pro staff. However AFTER 18 holes, we get yelled at as we're walking to the car literally taking our clubs to our car? Gimme a freaking break. Frog - you have a nice course, but you can keep your $100 and I'll find somewhere to go where I don't get yelled at after spending 4hrs on your...
