Ishmi Castle, built between 1572 and 1574, served as a strategic Ottoman defense stronghold to control roads and prevent insurgent activities. Located on a hill near the village of Ishëm, it is approximately 15 km west of Krujë and 26 km north of Durrës. The castle features architectural influences from various empires, including Roman, Byzantine, and Illyrian. Read moreConjunto fortificado muy interesante que evidencia el control otomano de los altos y el interior, frente al veneciano de la costa (Siglo XVI). La buena intervención del conjunto con fondos europeos y cartelería hace que la visita sea muy recomendable. Interesante las torres y las atarjeas, hay que fijarse que mantiene la tranca de la puerta... Ahora, esta a un paseito complicado de la costa en coche, pero merece la pena. En el interior hay hasta viviendas... La tumba es la del pintor albano...
