Liqeni I Viroit Spring — Attraction in Bashkia Gjirokastër

A beautiful park only a few minutes away from the city

We enjoyed our time here, walking along the path and the beautiful views, and then reading a book on the bench. The weather was lovely, and the park was clean.

I highly recommend visiting this park during the spring! You may have a picnic or a stroll in nature. Keep in mind there are no markets nearby so take food and water with you.

Also, to those that complain about the dry lake, please be mindful that nature runs its course and dries the lake during the scorching heat. A little bit of respect and understanding for the places you visit...

The place is called Lake of Viroi Spring, yet people complain that there is no lake when they visit outside the season of spring!

We loved it here and I think the park would be enjoyable even if the lake was dry. The area is surrounded by hills and mountains and it is not crowded. There are plenty of spots to sit, and a path to stroll in.

Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy a quiet...

Bit of an odd spot around 1 hour walk from the Bazaar/Old Town area of Gjirocaster. I presume there was once a lake here or perhaps it fills up during the rainy session. However now the "lake" is very much dry. Some caves and Hoja era style bunkers...
