Scrivo questa recensione con grande malincuore esprimendo un giudizio negativo per una delle spiagge più bella ed importanti dell'Albania. Frequento questa spiaggia dal 2008, da quando non esisteva ancora la maggior parte delle costruzioni che vediamo oggi e da quando la gente del posto affittava gli appartamenti a 25 €/notte. Ogni anno i prezzi sono aumentati fino a raggiungere quest'anno una media di 150 €/notte (ancora un prezzo basso rispetto a richieste assurde da parte delle strutture alberghiere di 350 €/notte).

Però si sa, al mare si va per il mare e quel tuffo nell'acqua fredda, limpida e cristallina ti faceva dimenticare i tubi dell'acqua scoperti che attraversano la strada alla seconda curva mentre si scende verso la spiaggia, di nuovo i tubi dell'acqua scoperti che attraversano la strada alla terza curva (bivio per Drymades), dopo ti trovi una gettata di cemento per coprire una buca con delle impronta di ruote lasciate da qualche gentiluomo che aveva fretta e non poteva aspettare che il cemento si asciugasse.

Quel tuffo nell'acqua fredda, limpida e cristallina ti faceva dimenticare la puzza e i bidoni della spazzatura in mezzo alla strada, i cani randagi, le recinzioni discontinue senza senso, le costruzioni lasciate a metà, le strade senza marciapiedi, la buca davanti al bivio "Ristorante da Luciano" che esiste da 15 anni o forse più, i tratti di strada non asfaltati, i blocchi di cemento in mezzo alla strada che impediscono il passaggio delle auto, le macchine lasciate con le quattro frecce in mezzo alla strada mentre i proprietari prendono un caffè. Tutti questi problemi e molti altri venivano cancellati dalla mente da quel tuffo nell'acqua fredda, limpida e cristallina della spiaggia più bella dell'Albania.

Quest'anno, purtroppo, con grande dispiacere, ho constatato di persona che lungo la costa l'acqua è sporchissima. Non si vede più l'acqua blu vicino alla riva, per trovarla bisogna andare in profondità. Ho nuotato per 1.5 km verso sud e per 1.5 km verso nord prendendo come punto di riferimento il "Ristorante da Luciano" ed in entrambe le direzioni la situazione è disastrosa. Per una fascia di 30 m dalla riva, da nord arrivava una schiuma e pezzettini di qualcosa che rimane in superficie e che si appiccicava alla pelle. A sud verso la fine della spiaggia in corrispondenza del masso di roccia con la passerella in legno, oltre alla sporcizia che arrivava da nord, ho notato che l'acqua era lurida e puzzolente. Siccome nella zona non ci sono stabilimenti industriali, molto probabilmente si tratta di versamenti delle fogne in mare. Nel giro di due giorni mia figlia di due anni si è riempita di puntini rossi su tutto il corpo. Tutto questo è successo dal 12 al 17 luglio 2024. Non penso di ritornare...
