Came here with my Girlfriend whilst staying in Berat. Had read superlative reviews, so we decided to check it out. We were welcomed by one of the kids working there, that showed us around a bit and told us about their family business. He must have found us extremely boring as he yawned twice whilst chaperoning us around. Also a bit weird that we get guided by a kid. He was great though

We then got seated outside, however the whole ambience changed completely when 60 polish tourist sat next to us. Incredibly loud, thankfully we could be seated inside. Wines were ok, their prize winning red is really good.

So why 3 stars? Small premise, I’m Italian, in terms of winery and wines I’m quite spoilt. So, the tour of the wine making process was very very short ~8 min. I thought we were going to see the vineyards, get to know things about the Albanian climate and soil and what gives this grape this award winning taste. None of this unfortunately. At the table we were sort of forgotten, and sometimes waited 25-30 mins between the wine tastings, then all of a sudden 3 reds + raki.I don’t quite get it to be honest, but maybe that’s just me. The wines were served with olives and feta. I mean for 35 euros in Western Europe You get a really really solid wine tasting experience, you really get “pampered”and I missed this completely here. Also, I get that they won prizes, but the wine prices are astronomical compared to the “competition”. I guess as with everything in this beautiful country, you have to be a bit lucky, and the staff needs to have a little extra time for you for it to make it a...

Just a premise, i’m sommelier since 2015 in italy and was very courious about wine developement in my country... therefore i decided to take the chance to visit this winery. My conclusion is that there is still so much to do in every aspect... quality of product, communication and self awarness. Wine quality on the whites and sparkling wines is nowhere close to being great, the quality improves technically on the reds but the communication is still null, i really didnt get any element to tell abroad about distinguishing elements of the Berati terroir. The concept of terroir isnt ever touched during the whole degustation where you are left alone most of the time... the beauty of all this is that they ask you almost 30 euro for the experience which includes “the wine degustation” and a selection of cheeses ham and olives. When you ask about prices you will learn that their best wine costs as a good Barolo or burgundy village (60+ euro) and this for a wine that is good without a doubt but still very far away from the excellence/premium price.

P.S: after this review i received a call from the “wine-maker” complaining about my comments and arguing that i am a fake expert and i don’t know anything about wine... so you that come for a visit take your opinions for yourself if you don't enjoy the wine and experience, people...

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Cobo Wine in Albania and opted for their €45 package, which featured some of their higher-end products. The experience was nothing short of exceptional. The selection of wines offered during the tasting was diverse and sophisticated, giving us a true sense of the quality and craftsmanship that Cobo Wine is known for.

We were particularly impressed with two wines that stood out: the E Kuqja e Beratit, which was so remarkable that we purchased two bottles to take home, one to store and one to drink before we leave Albania. The richness and balance of this wine left a lasting impression on us. Additionally, we had a sentimental request for a 2016 bottle of Kashmer, and although it wasn’t readily available for sale, the team went above and beyond by searching through their massive cellar to find this special bottle for us. We did feel a little ripped off because by the price but it’s all good effort made the experience even more memorable.

Overall, the hospitality, attention to detail, and the exceptional wines made this a brilliant experience. We highly recommend Cobo Wine for anyone looking to explore the best of Albanian wine culture. We can’t wait to return! To the parents, be proud of your kids. They did a good...

#sincere #deep #seducing is the slogan of this 100% Albanian winery we were lucky enough to visit. The young daughter of the Çobos showed us the factory and gave some details about the family' past and present. She shared the projects they are working on and the difficulties the winery experiences - taxes, suppliers, distribution... it is hard daily work but as their website says "From the beginning, we have insisted that our wine be made from 100% Albanian grapes. This gives us a very strong identity. The wine we produce must be connected to the land where the grapes are grown. We knew that if we wanted to set the standard for high quality Albanian wine, we had to represent ourselves with authentic grapes. We believe that wine is a form of culture. It is a philosophy of life. The making of wine is particular and time-consuming. As such, it demands the right touch, the right minds, and hands to make it a special, high quality product. Our winery is more than a business—it's a passion. It is our pleasure to grow the grapes, harvest them, and produce wine. We want to show others and ourselves that our wine is different—a unique, high quality wine."

Loved this small winery and the entire wine-tasting experience. I was met with a warm greeting and smile (solo traveler here) in the early afternoon on my drive from Sarande to Tirana. I was given a tour of this small winery along with the history of same as well as the surrounding area. I was seated outside under the trees on a beautiful afternoon and offered a tasting. I advised that I only drink red wine and my host immediately accommodated my tasting with only reds. He brought out several plates of cheese, olives, bread and dried meats with water and the tasting began. I was allowed to relax and enjoy each pour without being rushed. While I did not care for all of the wines - I like darker and full-bodied wine - there were a few that I enjoyed so I purchased a few bottles and was on my way. My host was warm, relaxed and clearly enjoyed his job here and love of wine. For the record, I used a car service for the drive between cities and therefore did NOT drive after drinking. I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed my bottles once I settled into my apartment. Thank you again for a wonderful experience and I recommend booking a tasting.
