Reaching the Valbonë Valley meant we were almost at the end of our long trail from Theth, and we couldn’t have been happier to finally be down here. The terrain in this part was a bit tougher—walking over loose rocks took more effort, and I could imagine that in certain seasons there’s water flowing through, making it an entirely different experience.
The views here felt different from the higher parts of the hike—broader, more open, yet still absolutely stunning. Navigation can be a little tricky since there aren’t as many clear markers, but it’s still not really possible to get lost. And knowing that from this point you’re so close to the village of Valbonë gives you that final boost of energy.
