It is a Roman Catholic church erected in the name of St. Augustine. Work began in 1880 AD and its construction continued for 20 years, and it was opened in 1900 AD. The church is an architectural masterpiece that all lovers of tourism in Algeria must see. White marble, red alabaster and hard wood were used in its construction. Marvelous architecture and it's facing a real beautiful view of the whole city as it's located at the top.. the environment there is really great, down to the place they have thier own time for visiting so you better be sure you go there when it's allowed to go in and check it from the inside as well.. great opportunity to see how a real church looks like and read the history of that church as it seems it has been there for ages..
