I have just spent the last 2 ski seasons living in the Canadian Rockies so have been pretty spoilt in regards to amazing resorts and champagne powder snow. I have also skied in Bulgaria, Switzerland, France and NZ.
We enjoyed our 3 days skiing in Pal. There hadn’t been any natural snow for quite a while so it was hardpack covered in snow from the snow makers. Still, in some places that were in the afternoon sun, the snow was rather nice.
The terrain is excellent if you like long, wide groomers and long narrow, twisting cat tracks, it would have been great being able to go off piste but there just wasn’t enough snow.
Chairlifts are good, hardly any queues, some swoop you up and try to knock you out as you get off but that happens. The button lifts are like slingshots, watch out for them if you aren’t used to that!
Some of the facilities weren’t great though. 3 of the mountain restaurants we went to all had the same food and it was table service only. The first day we ordered Chicken Nuggets and after 45 min asked for our money back, no apologies either. On the third day we had crepes at the base, amazing!! Throughly recommend.
The most disappointing issue we had was missing out in visiting the Arinsal sector of the mountain. I knew some runs weren’t open and assumed it was all of this sector. When I looked at the webcams over there, there were no people, chairlifts going or snow. Plus the cable car over from Pal wasn’t working the whole time we were there. Nowhere on the website could I see what runs/chairs were open and nowhere on the hill did it tell me either, not in English anyway. Really disappointing.
The best thing about this ski trip was the weather! After being used to skiing in as low as -30, we didn’t even take our thermals up with us. It was so warm and all 3 days were bluebird.
I would definitely return to Andorra to ski but would come later in the season and ski at a...

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve your technique, this resort is a great choice for a fun and...
