La Massana Pal Arinsal ski area is mostly easy pistes. Perfect for family ski trips. Seen from the point of view from La Massana, first get into the cabin lift. Then there is a great meeting point, with several chair lifts. Good restaurants and a perfect place for gathering. The ski area of La Massana is much smaller than Grand Valira.
The main skilift of La Massana has not got the todays normal outside ski’s hatch. So the interior glass is fully scratched
Pal Arinsal - Pal La Massana to Arinsal From La Massana Pal take the chairlift all the way up the mountain, then one button lift. Down some slobes and into a large cabin lift which will cross the valley to Arinsal.
Arinsal ski arena Arriving at the cabin lift from La Madsana. Take a moment to look over the Pyrenees Mountains, the far view is truly stunning. Arinsal ski arena is higher up the mountains than La massana. Longer pistes, good snow, wide pistes, mostly blue, red and some black. Arinsal ski arena combined with La Massana is not a big as Grand Valira.
Restaurant Niu On the ski piste of Arinsal. Nice cozy with open fire. Good food yakisoba, Onion Rings with Parmezan cheese and traditional Spain dishes. Stunning view over the Pyrenees Mountains.
Ordino Arcadis Somehow it (still) seems difficult to get from La Massana to Arcadis. We found: 1 Vallnord Red Bus a day leaving La Massana at ~0830 returning from Arcadis at 1615. Regular bus L6 only goes to Ordino. From Ordino it should be possible to get to Arcadis. With the vombination of most ski arena’s into Grand Valira free busses should drive. But where these departed we could not find out. There are rows of busstops between Ordino and ski arena Arcadis. But what if no bus comes by? We ordered a taxi. 30 euro one way. 60 euro two way 3 persons inc 3 ski sets. This ski arena is as fun as Pas de l Casa, even better. Very good snow. Great wide pistes. Very very ….. very long green piste, there is a rope lift pulling if you need it (you will need it to pass the bottom green part). Stunning view over the Pyrenees. For me, Ordino Arcadis jumps to the number one the best ski...
Read moreWe recently had our first visit to Andorra for a Skiing break with an old friend how lives in Barcelona. The skiing resort itself is superb. Even though there was very little snow in the town of Andorra the slopes we pretty good. They have a wide range of slopes to cater for all grades of skier. From the greens all the way to blacks there is something for everyone at Arinsal Ski Resort. If you’re looking for a reasonable skiing experience then this has to be on the short list. The ski passes were $80 each for two days skiing and the equipment was $65 each for two days. The hotel was pretty good value as well so overall a great few days skiing in a really enjoyable resort. They have some incredible views and a wide range of restaurants and bars on the slopes along with a cable car which can transfer you over to the other mountain and the slopes of Massana. We will definitely be going back as our break was great...
Read moreWe had snowboarding classes with Punti who was very patient and knowledgeable. Explained bit by bit and we ended up doing a lot of things for our first time. It's a good place for beginners with 2 easy and short routes, but another a bit higher with the lift, but still beginner. If you can, it's worth it to go to the restaurant up the mountain. Less busy, beautiful view, food and everything. I'm coming...
