Galley Bay Beach is located in the Western Portion of the Island of Antigua in the vicinity of Landing Bay and within the Galley Bay. The Galley Bay Resort & Spa is associated with this Beach are they are both located in the Galley Bay.

The Access to the Beach is via the aforementioned Resort and the fenced beach (well the Access via land, that is 😁 ) has many distinctive characteristics.

The end close to the pedestrian entrance is rough and somewhat rocky. In the middle (The area mainly occupied by the Resort) is relatively calm and tranquil, whereas the other end is rocky with reefs. So at one end is surfing possibilities, in the middle so to speak is swimming and other watersports and the extreme end is ideal for snorkeling. The reasonably long white sandy beach is great for seascape. Landscape and sunset views.

The Galley Bay Beach with the adjoining mini beach (separated by rocks) is an excellent place to visit and there is something or some spot for all beach lovers (and...

The beach is stunning, but it’s effectively controlled by the resort. While technically free to access, you’re made to feel unwelcome by the ever-watchful guards. When the beach isn’t busy, it’s even worse—they stand just 20 meters away, staring the entire time. If you take a walk, you’ll be followed, making you feel like you’re intruding. There’s no respect or discretion, just a sense of entitlement and ownership that borders on bullying.

Unfortunately, this is fairly common in Antigua, but here it’s taken to another level. From the very first moment I arrived, I politely approached the guard to ask where the private area is, just to avoid any misunderstandings. Despite that, the behavior persisted.

We visited not as a large group but simply as an Italian couple who made a long road and just wanted to enjoy the sun, read a book, and do some snorkeling—no...

I cannot imagine a honeymoon anywhere else. The room, the setting in general, the beach, the ocean, the bars were fantastic. I am not kidding when I say it is the best food I have ever had - and it was all-inclusive at that! Being from America, I have come to expect poor customer service when dining, etc. But here, everyone had a smile, remembered our names, brought us everything we needed promptly and ensured we had a great experience. I would 100% return to this amazing place, and highly recommend it to any couple. One tour guide told us, the thing about Galley Bay Resort is that even when it is at capacity, it feels relatively empty - this is so true - we were not crowded and never felt like it wasn't "our resort" I also recommend Bo Tours - Rogers was incredibly welcoming and made us feel both excited and safe to be there. Go ahead and book your...

This is a great beach. They have tried to make it look private but almost All beaches in Antigua are public. Enter via the unlocked gate in the fence and walk a short gravel path to a pristine beach. Great for swimming, snorkelling etc. Snorkelling is good at both ends but the right hand side (as you face out to sea ) is best. For snorkelling be aware that the jet skis that come out of Deep Bay come illegally close to snorkellers on occasion (within 15m) as most of the riders are first timers, so a surface marker buoy is a useful safety precaution. There are occasional Moon Jellyfish which are pretty harmless and easy to avoid. Would be no worse than a stinging nettle even if you did brush up against the underside of the bell.

Pristine beach. No public facilities. Park on side of the road past the resort and there is a gate to the walk thru to the beach. Great snorkeling. Live fan coral, saw a hug eel, couple founders and a young turtle while we were there. There was quite a bit of boat traffic so keep a eye out while swimming/snorkeling. Practically had the beach to ourselves. Great way to spend a couple hours for sure.

Very quiet secluded beach with crystal clear water despite the sea being quite choppy due to the constant wind blowing from East. Many seashells and broken corals on the beach so that children can go treasure hunting and keep busy for a few hours. Very recommended to those who don’t like the crowd at Dickenson Bay.
