Had such a great time visiting this bodega. Even though I hadn’t expected to taste the best wines in Maipú (although we did know they source their grapes from Uco Valley and elsewhere due to superior terrains and climates), I had the best Malbec as well as other delicious inventions like fortified Torrontés at Santa Julia.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, and it was so encouraging to see enterprising and ambitious female wine professionals leading in the industry.
We had a tour of the facilities and had a private tasting at the end. It was a much better idea to do a private tasting than with a big tour group. We ended up purchasing some wines and they were excellent value. I would’ve liked to buy more but it was inconvenient to carry and the cost of international shipping - even for a case and more - didn’t make a lot of sense. Iniciamos la visita en la parte de Zuelo, en donde tuvimos un recorrido en la planta de fabricación de aceite con guía, luego una degustación técnica y terminamos con un maridaje de aceites. Excelente experiencia para cualquiera que le interese el mundo del aceite de oliva. Es increíble cómo cambia el gusto del aceite con las diferentes comidas y saber cuál hay que consumir con diferentes alimentos para un mejor aprovechamiento del mismo. Terminada la excursión, podes comprar aceites con descuento exclusivo. Vale la pena.
Luego, nos fuimos a la Casa del Visitante donde almorzamos el menú de 3 pasos con la primera experiencia de maridajes. De entrada nos recibieron con 6 empanadas de la famosa cocinera de la bodega, la Chacha. Eran dos empanadas de carne, dos de hongo y quesos y dos de brócoli y espinaca. Riquísimas! La entrada la acompañamos con un vino blanco. El plato principal consistía en cortes de carne: lomo y vacío con verduras de estación. Excelente porque se resaltaba los sabores de cada plato con lo simple pero a la vez con sabores únicos y exóticos. En esta ocasión nos sirvieron dos vinos tintos de la bodega. Terminamos con los postres que eran quesos con mermeladas y dulces y flan. Acompañado por un vino blanco tardío. Incluye servicio de café.
Quedamos con la panza llena y el corazón contento.
El restaurante es muy lindo, vidriado donde se ven los viñedos, las montañas y los hornos de barro. Tienen un jardín precioso en donde se puede realizar la experiencia picnic, que para esta época del año es espectacular.
