Absolutely garbage. We did 3 days of bodegas and this was by far the worst. First, we booked a 3 course lunch for 2. The appetiser was the same for both 3 and 5 courses so we got it first. It was a very sweet appetiser with very sweet wine. Not my favourite but fine. When they came to collect the finished appetiser, they asked for what we would like for the main course. That was a loooooooong wait. Menu said the steak was bacon wrapped. Partner doesn't eat pork. By chance that day they just had steak. No bacon. Fine. I wanted the pork rib. No rib, just pork. So 2/3 of the menu was not like advertised on the menu. So we both ordered steak rare. Both came. Not rare, not medium rare, not medium, not medium well, both cooked to death. They were so well done neither of us could actually cut through them. While we tried to flag someone down, I ate half the croquette (out of 3) and 1 carrot. Sent the steaks back. When the steaks came back rare, they had deducted the sides. 2 croquettes and half the carrots. Seriously.
We were one of 3 tables. Server said we could get more wine if want. Fine. We finished meal. Paid with tip. The moment we finished paying no one else came to check. We checked to see if we could get 1 more glass of red (since they promised they were a winery and could just add another serving during our visit), the lady said yes she will get someone to come and 20 minutes later no one came. At 525 someone else came and said they were closing. We inquired about the one refill and she said oh we stopped filling at 515. Anything else just sorry wr are closed.
Absolutely nonsense for one of the most expensive lunches in...
Read moreThe reservation (First bad impression): The website has real bad description of what you'll be paying for. In case you try the whatsapp number, they just redirect you to the website for every question you ask.
Getting there/waiting our time (Second bad impression): The attendant said they would be delayed, because someone was still having a long lunch. This felt really weird. Nevertheless after about 20 mins waiting at the front door, we found out the group started ahead of us. So we ended up joining late, even though we were there 10 mins before starting.
Tour itself / Conclusion: Really bland tour, ended up tasting 4 different wines, learned a little bit about wine tasting. And that's pretty much it. Didn't come even close to the 1 hour 30 mins advertised.
Again, real bad service from Tierras Altas, bland touring, not worth your money, go visit a shop and they'll give you more wine tasting and learning...
Read moreAt first we couldn’t book English tour and joined Spanish tour instead. We learned Spanish on this travel but I was a little bit afraid not to understand enough because of the Argentinian accent. Our guide Vanessa was so nice that she spoke slowly and made sure we understand everything at the end of her speeches during the whole tour. A special thanks to her that she paid an extra attention to us in such a big tour group that day. We had an amazing time at the “Malbec experience” tour. We tasted each stages of Malbec from the tank, barrel and at the end from a 17 years old bottle! It was the oldest wine I have ever tasted and couldnt imagine it to be so soft and exquisite. It was a great experience to understand how time changes the exact same wine. It feels like being in a Time Machine to...
