I came to this winery in the morning but did not have a reservation. I know that reservations are almost always required for visiting wineries in Chile and Argentina, so I wasn't expecting to be able to get a tour. However, upon arrival the very kind security guard at the entrance reached out to staff inside the facility and I was able to get an impromptu tour with Sofia.
Sofia was fabulous! She was able to provide me with a very thorough tour in English of both the grounds and inside the facility. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions throughout the tour. This was by far one of the most interesting tours I have taken, and I loved learning about the history of the winery. I was also very grateful that Sofia took the time to provide the tour without an appointment.
After the tour, Sofia recommended some wines for me to try, and I have to say - they were EXCELLENT. She explained each one to me, and gave me her own personal recommendations. I can see why this is such a popular winery because I was impressed with the depth of flavor and drinkability of the wines that are made here. I ended up buying a couple bottles to take back to the states with me, and can't wait for the holidays so I can open them up.
Overall, I was very impressed with this winery. I have been to MANY wineries in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, and the U.S. and the friendliness of the staff, and Sofia in particular, as well as the quality and flavor of the wines really ranks this winery as one of my favorites. I DO recommend that you make an appointment prior to visiting as I just happened to be lucky and visiting during the shoulder season. Add this to your itinerary if you haven't already done so and ask for Sofia if you do. You won't be disappointed! Highly...
Read moreWe had a very mixed experience here, and unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend it—unless you enjoy paying for the privilege of being forgotten in a picturesque landscape.
The winery came highly recommended by family, and booking via WhatsApp was easy enough. We secured a 12:00 tour and tasting over lunch, but 20 minutes before arrival, we received a stern message: No exceptions—don’t be more than 10 mins late! A slightly intense tone for what we assumed would be a relaxed vineyard visit. No pressure, just navigate the remote, poorly signposted backroads like a rally driver.
We arrived exactly at 12:10, bracing for whatever “no exceptions” meant. Instead, we were met with…nothing. Just breathtaking views and a directive to sit by the lake, where someone would shortly join us. That was, apparently, winery code for “hope you enjoy dehydration.” An hour passed—35°C heat, no water, no snacks, no update—before we finally flagged someone down and seated ourselves in the restaurant. Their response? “Oh, there’s no time for the tour now.” Excellent.
Lunch it was, then. We opted for the premium wine pairing alongside a five-course meal—at $140pp, we were expecting something exceptional. The food and wine were perfectly fine, though nothing particularly memorable. At that price point, we had hoped for dishes and wines that would make us pause in delight, rather than simply nod in polite appreciation.
After four hours, we left feeling more sunburnt than satisfied. It wasn’t a bad experience, just one that felt oddly disjointed. A beautiful setting, decent food and wine, but overall, a reminder that good scenery doesn’t always equal good...
Read moreI would give the ambience and setting of this boutique and cute bodega a 5 and the the restaurant a 4.5. The wines were really good and the service was also really good. You really can’t complain about anything because there are so many great bodegas in restaurants and in Mendoza - it’s just about levels of excellence. Also, it’s important to note that Google maps has, depending which direction you’re coming from has an incorrect route because we had to go through several private roads and private vineyards to...
