A hidden gem on the route 40. It's difficult to get to and we recommend only doing the route 40 here if you have a 4x4 because doing it in a car was treacherous (but doable).

Valle de La Luna was beautiful and truly out of this world. It has a plaque of information in Spanish and English. No guides were visible when we went at 8:30-9:15am. No entrance fee or anything like that because it's suppose to just be a vista point...CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?

Sunset might be the best time to get photos if you want the big dunes highlighted but the morning time was nice as well.

I cannot believe this place doesn't have more reviews because it's landscapes was one of the most impressive on our journey. We traveled the hard route 40 from La Quiaca all the way to Cusi Cusi because we wanted to see this.

I wasn't let down. The adventure alone was cool but walking on this terrain feels like walking in mars.

We were told there would be guides but we didn't see any at the lookout so we decided to keep it safe and only went down so far as to where we could...
