Sierra de las Quijadas National Park is a vast, desertlike area in western Argentina, in the San Luis province. It’s known for Potrero de la Aguada, a natural amphitheater framed by red sandstone cliffs. Trails lead to important fossil finds, including probable dinosaur tracks. Condors and black-chested buzzard-eagles soar overhead, while gray foxes, guanaco herds and solitary puma roam the sparsely vegetated plains.
