You get to this wonderful lake by following the Fitz Roy trail till about the 4th km. The hike is demanding because it’s too often very steep, on mostly dust roads. Only a small part of the trek is in shade. We needed around 3.5h to climb and about 1.5h to descend and we drank a whole lot of water on the way (it was a sunny day). There is a bifurcation where you can either go to the Fitz Roy viewpoint or to the lagoon, however the two “destinations” can be made into a loop: go one way, come back the other. The path between viewpoint and lagoon is closely ingrown with bushes, so i suggest using long sleeves and pants. On the side of the lake on a clear day one can even see Fitz Roy. Along the way you will find signs with “km x of 9 to Fitz Roy”. At close to the 1st km there is a lookout point (mirador) which lets you catch your breath a bit, albeit without any shade. If you go on a sunny day, don’t forget sunblock, sunglasses and a...

Laguna Capri, nestled in the serene surroundings of Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina, offers a tranquil and laid-back escape for nature lovers. The short and less challenging hike to the lake allows for a leisurely stroll, ensuring a more relaxed experience. As you wander through the picturesque landscapes, the breathtaking views of Mount Fitz Roy and the Andes create a peaceful ambiance that soothes the soul. Upon reaching the glacial lake, take a moment to unwind, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and revel in the beauty of nature's masterpiece. Embrace the tranquility of Laguna Capri, and let its calming allure rejuvenate...
