This humble location stands as one of the world's most significant repositories, boasting an impressive assemblage of over 2,800 marine mammal specimens. Over the course of several decades, an enchanting collection of marine creatures and avian wonders has been meticulously curated. What sets this collection apart is its ethically sourced origins—owing to the distinctive geography, deceased animals naturally wash ashore in close proximity, sparing them from deliberate harm for the sake of preservation. Embarking on a tour of the museum and engaging with its scholarly department unraveled remarkable insights into the local fauna, as well as the tireless endeavors in studying and conserving these precious species. The guides accompanying the experience exuded patience and an abundance of knowledge, elevating the entire encounter to a realm of captivating fascination. Truly, this was an extraordinary and unparalleled adventure, leaving an indelible mark on...

The guides (both English & Spanish) were super nice & provided lots of information about the mammals under the sea. We were able to get up close & see the differences in the species of whales, dolphins, seals, & so much more. All the skeletons we saw were found right in Ushuaia (outside the hippo) so that was really cool to hear about. The length of the tour was perfect to where we weren't overwhelmed with information but learned a lot about the mammals.

The museum is run by volunteer biologists so they truly care about what they are showing people & the...

Amazin work of volunteers to keep the place. The tour guides of the museums are really knowledgeable and passionate about their work. Our tour guide, who was one of the managers there, nailed every single question our group asked. I learned a lot. Tours in english and Spanish were easy to follow. The collection is displayed nicely and it is easy to relate the real animal and the museum is organized and clean. It is a great stop after visiting the penguin island. I hope they get more funds to help them increase their collection and improve their...
