Exceptional!!!!
You dont need pay expensive tour. Just go to tge bus terminal buy return ticket. 2000peso each . Depart daily at 10am, return either take 3pm or 5pm back depends on your speed.
There are plenty of people coming and going constantly, you dont need hire a guide! You dont even need a hiking boots if dont have it. We used sneakers and its just fine. Choose a day which is sunny, so you can see the sky reflection to the lake.
We rarely hike, so it too us 2.5 hours to walk there, but only took us 1.5 hours walk back, because more used to the road and much easier go downhill. Prepare some snacks to eat in front of the lake.
If you have 2 or 3 people, I highly recommend you take taxi there, and take another taxi back. It will work out even cheaper than 2000peso per person return by the bus ticket. There are many cars and taxis waiting there for people back from the lake to take them back to city. Its probably even cheaper to use taxi by meters than Remia...
Read moreThe entire hike is spectacular. About 3 hours return. You can walk around the edge of the lake too, which I recommend as it gets you close to the mountains and is beautiful. Doing this adds about 2km or 30-45mins. The whole hike was very muddy so waterproof and shoes with good tread are a must. If you’re not sure footed maybe worth renting poles too as it was very slippery. I caught a taxi from the street to the start of the trail (about 20 mins from town). He gave me his WhatsApp to text when I had finished for pickup. The taxi driver charged 30,000 pesos total. Note if you do this - Movistar works on the trail but Claro only has signal in one area on the way down. Claro does not have signal at the car park. Alternatively the taxi can meet at an...
Read moreVisited 11/27/2024. Our experience was very lucky as this was apparently one of the nicest, warmest, and sunniest days of the year in Ushuaia. We arrived around 8:30am and there were very few cars. The road to the parking area, alone, has beautiful views of the mountains (and it’s all free). Finding the entrance to the trail was the hardest part (right by the exit to the parking area. Left of all the signage) The hike was a little muddy, so be careful of that if you’re trying to stay clean, but other than that, it’s a fairly moderate difficulty 4km hike. Apparently the lot fills up quick passed 930am, but there is overflow parking down the road toward Ushuaia. Hike has very nice views outside of the woods and a nice calm Laguna when you...
