A must do! If you don't have time to do anything, consider doing this tour. You will have to purchase the tickets online in advance and will have to spend a good 3 hours as a tour time. If you add the commuting time (it takes about 20-25 mins to uber / taxi to the station from the city center), you will basically need a half day to complete this tour. You will like the tour experience! This train basically takes you to the part of Tierra Del Fuego National Park and allows you to get off at each location. You get 15 to 30 mins to look around, take a small hike, and take pictures duringt the break time. Then you basically hop back on the train for the next stops. Each stopping point provides an unique view of nature. Riding this old fashioned train is also a memorable experience. The train looks like an old train that you may have seen in the cartoons or disney movies before (despite what it was used for). Tip 1: Definitely purchase the train tickets in advance (at a couple of days before or as you plan for your trip to Ushuaia). I visited Ushuaia in the fall (end of March) so I didn't have an issue buying tickets a day before our tour, but I was told the tickets run out fast during summer. Tip 2: As you get on the train, if you are a photo taker, I would recommend sitting at the far end of the train (if you can), also facing the same direction as the train is headed. This will give you a better view of the train and nature to take photos.

We booked the first class premier experience. Lived every minute. The staff was excellent everywhere: from the moment we checked in, through the Macarena Station with the foto team, up to the end. This is a must do experience!! We pre-selected our lunch menu, which was far better than we could have imagined. I had the spinach and ricotta stuffed pasta (manicotti) with a bolognese sauce. It was incredible, and worthy of any fine dining establishment. My partner enjoyed a beef and lentil stew that was also excellent. We had two small bottles of Malbec. Our booking included a professional photo with the “convicts” and small souvenirs (key chains, post cards). Our booking also provided our meal in a private cabin, set up for lunch for the two of us though it could have accommodated 4. Traveling through the park was gorgeous!!! Mountains, hills, valleys, meadows, forests, waterfalls, wild horses… this place has excitement at every turn! Very educational too, with complimentary headphones and audio commentary in multiple languages.

The train rides along the nature of Tierra del Fuego. It is a 14km out and back journey with the train. You enter the train and take a picture with the “prisoners”. Then you anjoy a 10 minute train ride to the middle station where you can buy the picture and walk to two lookouts of a waterfall. You then continue the journey to the end train station. You can either your trip from there or continue back with the train. The train ride is very scenic and really beautiful. The tickets for the tourist section (cheapest option) is 62$ plus another 30$ national park entrance fee. So for a two hour train ride it is definitely one of the most expensive ones. Especially the 30$ national park entrance fee was nowhere mentioned. Otherwise nice train, made touristy and great way to enjoy nature.

This train station and ride was one of the highlights of my trip! This history is worth looking into. The vigor of the staff for the actors that pose for pictures to the wait staff was incredible. They really enjoy working there and you can see it. Made my entire experience first class from the train ride, to the lunch to the actor interaction. This doesn’t overshadow how gorgeous the park is. The trains are very neat and limited in space, so if you’re a fatty, it may not be a comfortable ride. They give you head phones and have a history lesson on the way out. I’d recommend getting a tour setup prior to arrival. Take the train to the station inside the park and meet the tour guides there. This was very fun for me and I highly recommend this experience!

Taking into count that it’s the narrowest railroad train in service (this was a real passenger train not a tourist attraction.) it’s worthwhile experience. Tickets cost $29 for foreigners $24 for Argentina. it has been well done to the tail. The train station, both of them are quite nice with a lot of all memorabilia. The photos one can take with actors acting as the Prisoners who were at the prison the train was serving are debatable. My daughter didn’t like it taking to count the horrible living conditions at the prison. I didn’t like that one was forced to pay seven dollars for the photos and one could not take their own photos. Overall, however, is a great experience.

Multi language train experience with great views. Try to get a seat on the right side (from the station closest to Ushuaia, but both sides offer good views. Also known as "The end of the world train". A must ride if you are in town. There are at least two options that I know of. The first of first class with a meal, and you can purchase it online (not sure about in person) and it's not included in the local tour trips. The second one is the one that comes with your tour company and you can pay at said companies. Note: you can purchase a first class ticket and still do the tour, without the cost of a regular ticket. Just be sure you talk to the tour company about it.
