Havuts Tar Monastery Complex — Attraction in Ararat Province

The name of the monastery literally means "A gathering place for birds". The monastery is situated inside Khosrov forest state reserve. You can get there hiking which is a little bit hard (at least for me). The scenery here is great. You can see Garni temple and the small church of Garni at distance. One amazing thing about the monastery is its ornaments. I have never seen this kind of small monastery with this amount of ornaments! The ornaments are everywhere! One of the best and interesting places in Armenia. Unfortunately it is not well know among tourists. Must see place. It is interesting to visit in every seasons. You can enjoy 1-2 hours walk to get there. The nature is beautiful and really amazing. The only minus is the fact, that this place is dirty because of dirty visitors....

That was quite a nice experien e to hike all the way up especially when it rains. Don't even try to go there by car coz the most enjoyable part is the road to Havuts Tar. A beautiful view of Garni opens from there. And the picnic under the trees was epic ! The monastic complex is ruined but thats what makes the place...
