I adore this monastery! It is situated near the river Dzoraget. Its location is perfect! The monastery itself was built in the 7-13th centuries AD.The Georgians may claim that this is a Georgian church. But its not! It has several Georgian inscriptions and Georgian crosses on its walls. One of them is right under the dome, which makes it really unique. And the other is on the Southern wall. These inscriptions tell us about the renovations undergone by the Zakarid rulers. And these rulers were not Georgian. Getting to the monastery is not easy, because the road to it is in terrible condition!
