I had a deeply disappointing experience at Shangri-La Casino in Yerevan, and I strongly advise any foreigner or tourist thinking of visiting — especially to play poker — to reconsider.
The environment in the poker room is toxic and feels like a setup. The regulars are all locals who clearly know each other and, from my experience, play from the same pocket. Their main goal seems to be targeting and draining any outsider who walks in. This isn’t just speculation — the way hands play out, the dynamics at the table, and their coordinated behavior all point to one thing: collusion.
Even worse, the pit bosses and floor staff turn a blind eye. Players freely talk during hands — which is a serious violation in any reputable casino — and when you raise it with the staff, they do absolutely nothing. It’s either negligence or complicity, but either way, it’s unacceptable.
If you’re a tourist looking for a fair and professional gaming environment, Shangri-La is not the place. There are far better, safer, and more respectful venues elsewhere. Don’t risk your money or your...

Upon entering, they attempted to charge the men in our group $50, while the women were exempted from this fee. They insisted on taking a copy of our passports, which raises concerns about privacy and security. The front desk staff was exceedingly rude, making the experience very unwelcoming. Women visiting, even if accompanied by their husbands, are unfairly and offensively presumed to be there for illicit reasons. The atmosphere is far from lively. Most patrons seemed to be there out of addiction rather than leisure. The management clearly lacks an understanding of what makes a casino enjoyable. I believe this establishment should be reevaluated for...
Read moreI have been coming to this casino for the last few years every time I visit Armenia. I lost some & I won some. I’m not a big gambler in general but this last visit I happened to go there five times in six weeks and happened to be lucky winning each time I visited some $300 dollars and some $1500 dollars so in six weeks I happen to win in total around US$5000. The sixth time I visited up on entry I was told I would be charged $50 for entry then when I complained they waived it then when I entered the casino I was the first by one of the managers just to be told I was banned from playing the tables and I wasn’t even allowed to approach the tables. I was told I could only play the slot machines so I decided to hand in my membership card and wished them the best and walked out so obviously they are only looking for losers. So be careful. This is very bad for the tourism of...
