Iâm not sure what to say about this place, it was great, donât get me wrong but there were a few things that werenât so great. From the moment you call up and get an automated voice message that seems really abrupt, then hangs up on you, to the crazy amount of signs around the park that use negative language and make you feel very unwelcome, this place has all the hallmarks of a business that has for a long time, missed out in a bit of TLC, I get the impression that the owners are over it all. It was interesting that there is no concession, seniors or seasonal discounts which is unfortunate as grandparents will likely not come back again in a hurry, itâs expensive for what it is and theyâve totally got the pricing model all muddled up. It was a disappointment to find that we paid full price and have several of the attractions not working or switched off, including Fountains, waterways and the waterwheel and the attractions were understandably old and weathered and had seen better days.
If you are a parent, please be careful of little ones getting stuck in the wall! Our five year old got stuck and panicked and as a parent, thereâs no way to get them out! It scared him a lot (and us too) if there was ever an emergency, you are physically unable to do anything about it, very, very scary! Also be weary of very large drop-off points around the playground and low fencing, a child could do some serious damage to themselves. I feel there needs to be some updates made around this area for a bit more safety, especially that wall, gives me anxiety just thinking about it.
The gardens are very well maintained and it must be a huge effort to keep under control so good work whoever is doing it and the locations is breathtaking, such a wonderful space.
All in all, we did actually have a great time, understandably itâs an old place with heritage attached to it but in todays day and age, itâs a...
Read moreI had read the reviews about Fairy Park before deciding to visit and as a local, I have heard personal feedback so I had a good indication on what to expect and it was pretty accurate. In short - A nice experience but very rundown.
Upon entering, you can see that it is quite old and in need of a little bit of love but it still does feel very 'magical' for the children. We spent around an hour and a half stopping at all the little attractions, taking photos and then letting the children have a play at the playground afterwards. The playground is definitely one you need to watch your kids like a hawk with, as it's quite a death trap. The whole place definitely needs some work to freshen it up and bring it back to life. Regardless, my children had a good experience.
I feel that the price of $22 for an adult is a stretch. This venue is primarily for children, I don't think many adults will be visiting for themselves so while I feel that you should still definitely be charging for adults, the amount is too high and you should definitely offer family packages. I read all about Fairy Parks mission and beginning and unfortunately it seems that they have lost their way. I attended by myself as $44 for 2 adults and then our 2 children $24, is just too much so sadly this prevented our family from experiencing this together. At the very least, you should offer family rates. I see this is a commonly discussed topic for Fairy Park so hopefully you do take on the feedback to create a better experience especially for all your local families.
WARNING- the hills are very steep, especially when pushing a pram so I would not come here unless the weather is good to avoid...
Read moreWe recently hired the Kings Castle at the Fairy Park for my daughters birthday party and it was absolutely perfect. The party area is a great size with plenty of built in tables and seating plus BBQs, a serving area and a little stage/nook where we set up our cake table. The Kings Castle is next to the car park so we were able to park our car right next to it to bring everything in and out which was perfect. The fact that it is fully enclosed also means that adverse weather isn't an issue and the park is fully paved throughout so no issues with rain/mud. The magic of the park absolutely comes to life when you have a group of children walking through and one of their favourite parts were the unicorns and Griffin at the top of the mountain to climb on and have photos taken. We put together a little quiz for the kids to fill out as they took in all the different fairy tales along the way. After the cake was cut the kids headed over to the the awesome playground which was the perfect finish to a great party. Garry is extremely friendly and helpful so make sure to reach out to him if you have questions. He also gave us a bit of a discount on entry for party guests which we appreciated. Thank you so much for having us :) Tips - The 3 BBQs operate with $1 coins and there are 17 long tables in the Kings castle that would easily sit 10 adults each (Plus one smaller moveable table that we used for the cake). There is also a power point if you need to plug...
