Around 3 years ago, it use to be a very welcoming place for everyone who would like to learn water boarding!😊😉They provided lessons for beginners no matter of the ages☺. They're a very friendly and hospital staff serving lovely burgers🍔, chips🍟, soft drinks🍫 and beaut coffee☕. GoWake under the 'old management' (all young ppl.☺) were welcoming everyone with an open arms, and they're looking after people with disabilities☺.I've been there many, many times with one of my disable clients. He's learnt all the secrets of how to water board, and how to becomee a 'champ' in it. Unfortunatelly, I lost that client after I resigned from work. I met with him from time to time and with his lovely mum for a chat. Lots of things has changed at the Go Wake for disable for...worse.😞 New managers aren't happy to have ppl. with disabilities there😟, and to help them in learning. My young client even doesn't want to go waterboarding at GoWake at Andegrove anymore...😯☹ His mum is also very dissapointed with the new services. Her son and my ex- disable client, isn't welcomed there anymore. I will remember him as a very lovely young man with a mild disability, very polite, sometimes impatient though, but always cheery, smiling. And what he only wanted was a simple thing...To be accepted there, even that he was disable! It's sad but true. All the 'old good days' are gone at 'GoWake'😟. As I said earlier, my past disable client doesn't want to go skating on water, cos he feels pressure on him and he feels like an intruder or as a 'troublemaker'?😟😤 Other Managers were good to him, assisted and helped him. He was obeying rules of the place as much as it was possible for him to do so*, and under my supervision of course, due to his mild disability. Oh, it hurts me knowing about that. I was his carer since he was about 14 years old! Anyway, I am sorry to say that, but is not good for people with disabilities to go to GoWake and enjoy the water sport now under New Management😦 I am really dissapointed hey. Cheers. Old...
Read moreWhat a shame that an 8yr old with 2 yrs of cable experience can’t ride but a 10yr with no experience can hurt themselves and ride. We specifically avoided slow cable speed ‘times’ as it is for beginners. Weren’t even given the opportunity to show he could ride. Owner became belligerent and hid behind insurance despite me signing a waiver Told me the kids who were 8yr olds riding now they ‘knew’ so that meant it was different (!!!?) Perhaps consider not age discrimination and take riders as individuals
Travelling all the way from melb with board gear to experience yet another cable park Refused to refund given only one child could ride and one couldn’t. Came to support a local business after covid and lockdowns but clearly they didn’t want our patronage.
Supposed to be a highlight of the kids trip instead in their words ‘what a let down’ - couldn’t agree more. Don’t & wouldn’t recommend & would...
Read moreSaw their Facebook advert offering sunset views and live music on Friday nights - sounded good. Got there early, picked a seat out of the sun and a good view of the activities on the water. Ordered drinks and sat back to enjoy. Then we were asked to move so they could accommodate an event. Soooo we enjoyed the blocked out view of the rope set up, the thudding noise of the engine behind us and in full hot sun. Opted not to order food or further drinks. That said - we'd try again and hopefully give 5 stars. Seems like a good place to enjoy the hot weather with some water activities by day and drinks under the fairy lights on the...
