Sadly we didn’t really get to do anything here. When we asked for a wine tasting the person behind the cellar door bar rolled her eyes. We excused ourselves and asked if that was ok? She rudely said yes it was fine. She went through the wine tasting options $5 per basic tasting or $10 for the premium. While we had no issue to pay, my husband had previously told me that he found throughout Tasmania he had found they charge for tastings and here he pointed it out to me again. She also had an issue with him saying this to me. She cleary didnt want us to stay and reverted back to the couple doing a tasting. She didn’t check back and left us standing there very uncomfortably.. without service we eventually left and as we stepped out the door she told us to have a great day. My husband turned back and asked her why she had been so rude because we really did want to stay. She then let him know that we had been in fact rude.
Not sure what really happened. We wanted to do a tasting and drove over an hour to get there. It had been on my husband’s list of must do in the area.
We had also planned to buy a couple of bottles and a special gift for our neighbour back home.
Again not sure what happened.. why this person was so rude. We do lots of tastings and buy lots of wine...

Read moreWe had a wonderful tasting experience today as the lady and gentleman who attended us today were so friendly and provided sufficient information for each wine tasted. We love the Freycinet Riesling, the Shiraz and Sauvignon Merlot so bought few bottles to ship to our family. They were so kind and generous to help combine the other two bottles of wine bought from another winery into one shipment. The wine tasting was free with purchase, and 5 dollars if without purchase. It is a great deal as they don’t limit the number of wines one can taste. A true spirit a decent winery should practice.
For wine lovers this winery is definitely a gem. The setting doesn’t matter if you are not expecting taking fancy pictures for social media. The wines are beautiful and that’s more...
