Sadly we didn’t really get to do anything here. When we asked for a wine tasting the person behind the cellar door bar rolled her eyes. We excused ourselves and asked if that was ok? She rudely said yes it was fine. She went through the wine tasting options $5 per basic tasting or $10 for the premium. While we had no issue to pay, my husband had previously told me that he found throughout Tasmania he had found they charge for tastings and here he pointed it out to me again. She also had an issue with him saying this to me. She cleary didnt want us to stay and reverted back to the couple doing a tasting. She didn’t check back and left us standing there very uncomfortably.. without service we eventually left and as we stepped out the door she told us to have a great day. My husband turned back and asked her why she had been so rude because we really did want to stay. She then let him know that we had been in fact rude.

Not sure what really happened. We wanted to do a tasting and drove over an hour to get there. It had been on my husband’s list of must do in the area.

We had also planned to buy a couple of bottles and a special gift for our neighbour back home.

Again not sure what happened.. why this person was so rude. We do lots of tastings and buy lots of wine...

If you’re looking for a top-tier wine-tasting experience in Tasmania, Freycinet Vineyards is the place to go. The wines are fantastic—especially the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—but what truly made this visit unforgettable was the exceptional service from Valentina and Lucía.

From the moment I arrived, they made me feel welcomed, not just as a guest, but as someone they genuinely wanted to share their passion for wine with. Their knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail were outstanding. Valentina guided me through each wine with expert insight, making the tasting both educational and fun. Lucía brought an incredible warmth and charisma, ensuring I enjoyed every moment. They tailored the experience to my taste, making fantastic recommendations and taking hospitality to the next level.

Beyond their professionalism, it was their genuine passion that stood out. They didn’t just pour wines—they crafted an experience. Thanks to them, this wasn’t just a tasting; it was a memory I’ll never forget.

Highly recommend visiting—and if you do, make sure to ask for...

We had a wonderful tasting experience today as the lady and gentleman who attended us today were so friendly and provided sufficient information for each wine tasted. We love the Freycinet Riesling, the Shiraz and Sauvignon Merlot so bought few bottles to ship to our family. They were so kind and generous to help combine the other two bottles of wine bought from another winery into one shipment. The wine tasting was free with purchase, and 5 dollars if without purchase. It is a great deal as they don’t limit the number of wines one can taste. A true spirit a decent winery should practice.

For wine lovers this winery is definitely a gem. The setting doesn’t matter if you are not expecting taking fancy pictures for social media. The wines are beautiful and that’s more...

This is one of several vineyards along the Tasman Hwy between Swansea and Bicheno that we visited during a recent trip around Tasmania. They have a nice Cellar Door venue with indoor and outdoor seating and wine tasting of the wines produced on the estate. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm daily. Wine tasting comes in two tiers, Louis label tasting AUD$10 per person and Freycinet label tasting AUD$15 per person. You can also purchase bottles of anything you like. We enjoyed the wine tasting experience and while we didn't end up purchasing anything from this particular vineyard, we found their red wines in particular to be pretty good. The vineyard grounds were very nice as well, making for a good overall wine tasting experience.

We enjoyed every moment of our visit today at 3pm. The lovely lady behind the counter was amazing, informative and had natural great customer service, even thou within minutes of us arriving a group of 10 arrived and another three groups of two arrived all within minutes of each other, the lady behind the counter did not miss a beat and was so attentive to us all and answered all questions asked of her, was accommodating to all and naturally had the whole room laughing. We bought two bottles of wine on her recommendation and another lady who had been twice already to the winery from Melbourne. Definitely stop in and see this beautiful place and enjoy some of Australia's most elegant wines.
