I love having Atherton Bike Park as my local. It's pretty climby and trails like "Stairway to Heaven" are a real tester, but it's worth it for descents like "Yahoo Wahoo." If you haven't got your climbing legs, then the likes of trail 4 will still provide a lot of fun. The "Lunar Park" section of trail 4 is probably one of the best sections of trail here and its really exciting that there are plans to add more sections like it. It is also possible to shuttle up the road to the "Three Ways" at the top which will allow you access to trails 13 & 9 - Yahoo and Ricochet.

This is a fantastic park for MTB riders. Track are levels green and blue, for easy to moderate. Good basic skills are needed. There’s enough challenges on the green tracks to keep it interesting. Tracks are well marked. There’s a good warm up track in town, before a ride of 1-2 kms to the trailhead. Even in wet weather the tracks are in good condition. Lots of work goes into maintaining about 60 kms of tracks, so a donation via the Atherton MTB website would be fair!

My first visit and can’t wait to return. Beautifully maintained long tracks with clear signage. I’m still a newbie so I stuck to the green tracks, really enjoyable with enough to challenge me. Also very peaceful, except for the odd gun shot from nearby Rifle Range! Top spot. Just one niggle, I got lost trying to cycle from Atherton to MTB park via the link track and got lost, no signage at all once you turn onto the link track.

Atherton MTB park has some of the best and most accessible trails in FNQ. They are well constructed and offer alternative routes to suite all skill levels.

If you are the adventurous rider these trails are well suited to test your fitness and skill levels with all mountainous climbs achievable. Your efforts will be rewarded top with several lookout opportunities and spectacular views of the tablelands, over Atherton and as far as Lake Tinaroo.

Once you have completed the climbs to the summit the return leg down is definitely going to put a smile on the dial with Yahoo Wahoo, Drop Zone, Ridgey Didge and Ricochet among...

This was an awesome experience for my wife and I who are relative novices to trail riding. Great maps and signage and very well maintained. Check out the skills park first for an introduction to different levels, then we tried out the skills track, a nice shady track, good intro. We went up the link trail to the main trail area. Met the president, who took the time to describe the trails. We followed the green tracks 1,4,3,1 and had a great ride. Well done to the volunteers who look after this for...
