Barmah National Park is a hidden gem and an absolute must-visit for nature lovers! We recently spent a day exploring the park and were blown away by its beauty and tranquillity. Home to the largest river red gum forest in the world, the towering trees, peaceful wetlands, and abundant wildlife made for an unforgettable experience.

The walking trails were well-marked and gave us a chance to fully immerse ourselves in the natural surroundings. We spotted kangaroos, emus, and a variety of birdlife – a real treat for the kids and a great photo opportunity! The Barmah Lake and Murray River views were simply stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset.

We also took a relaxing canoe ride along the river, which was a peaceful way to take in the scenery and hear the sounds of the bush. There were plenty of spots to stop for a picnic, and the facilities around the park were clean and well-kept.

Whether you're after a quiet getaway, a chance to connect with nature, or a fun day out with the family, Barmah National Park delivers. It’s rich in natural beauty, cultural significance, and offers something for everyone. We left feeling refreshed and already planning...

The Barmah National Park has always been one of the places in Victoria where you are guaranteed to see wild & free roaming horses. Their presence in the forest is one of the reasons why many people go, capturing that special photo is very awe inspiring, watching the horses is breathtakingly beautiful, something that many generations of families enjoy doing, kids love to see the horses. The long history of the horses in Barmah is iconic, tourists all over the world love these horses. I'll be a regular visitor to Barmah and it is always to see the horses.
