We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a better spot. The old train carriage has been beautifully renovated (4 Ghan)— cosy, charming, and full of character (and that’s just the accommodation… the animals have plenty too!).
Cruiser the Jack Russell deserves an award for “Happiest Tail in the Tablelands” — we’re convinced it never stopped wagging. Cherry the horse made sure we all knew she runs the show, and Bert the cow… well, let’s just say he’s a big softie who loves a good head rub. Together they added so much joy (and comedy) to our stay.
The barbecue packs for breakfast and dinner were absolutely divine and well worth the extra, and the thoughtful little touches for our anniversary made us feel so cared for.

It’s a shame because the hotel itself is lovely, but this issue left me with a very bitter feeling. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through a similar experience.
Here is the photo they sent me 48 hours after...
