The place is beautiful, and the location is perfect, but unfortunately, my experience was soured by a frustrating situation after my stay. More than 30 hours after checking out, I received an unexpected invoice of $300 for alleged bloodstains on the sheets and doona, which I’m certain were not caused during my stay. There was no prior notice or communication until I contacted them myself. After I asked for proof, they sent me a photo, but I know for sure that this damage was not caused by us. To avoid getting into a back-and-forth argument and because the situation was stressing me out, I decided to pay. However, I’m very unhappy with how this was handled. It’s a shame because the hotel itself is lovely, but this issue left me with a very bitter feeling. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through a similar experience. Here is the photo they sent me 48 hours after my check out.

WOW, this place is above and beyond. The facilities (bathroom, kitchenette, firepit, bedroom/ living area) was amazing. The owners really took attention to detail, and the little things really added value. I highly recommend staying here. Owners are very prompt, friendly, engaging, and accomidating. I highly recommend the premium platter deal. It's such a great experience to have such a great room (both tent & train), as well as being able relax in the open air outdoors.

Stayed as a solo traveller for 3 wonderful nights in the Overlander. I was late getting there on the first night and had not had dinner - thank you so much for the cheese and biscuit platter on arrival. It is the perfect setting, early morning cuppa on the verandah listening to the birds and then a very short drive for a lovely breakfast. Highly recommend as the place to stay if you are exploring the Atherton Tablelands. Thank you for a lovely relaxing time.

We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a better spot. The old train carriage has been beautifully renovated (4 Ghan)— cosy, charming, and full of character (and that’s just the accommodation… the animals have plenty too!).

Cruiser the Jack Russell deserves an award for “Happiest Tail in the Tablelands” — we’re convinced it never stopped wagging. Cherry the horse made sure we all knew she runs the show, and Bert the cow… well, let’s just say he’s a big softie who loves a good head rub. Together they added so much joy (and comedy) to our stay.

The barbecue packs for breakfast and dinner were absolutely divine and well worth the extra, and the thoughtful little touches for our anniversary made us feel so cared for.

A stay filled with peace, laughter, nature, and great food — what more could you ask for? Highly recommend for anyone who wants more than just a getaway — this is an experience you’ll never...

My husband and I stayed in the Glamping tent for two nights after we got married, Janet and Brooke went above and beyond welcoming us, with flower petals on the bed, a beautiful bouquet of roses and cheese and meat platter with champagne that we devoured! We love camping, and this experience was definitely a step up, the tent was magnificent! The serenity, calm and quietness made our little honeymoon getaway an experience we will cherish and remember always. The weather was perfect to enjoy some quality time together warming up next to the outdoor fire under the stars.

It was so lovely to have met you Janet, to hear and read about your story is truly inspiring. Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you ladies for a wonderful weekend, we enjoyed every minute of it, your thoughtfulness and heart warming gestures made our start to married life so much more beautiful!!!

We will definitely be...
