This image captures the breathtaking beauty of a narrow passage carved through towering rock formations. The perspective draws the eye down a pathway of stone steps, nestled between sheer cliffs that rise on either side. The rocks themselves are a tapestry of textures and hues. Read moreSilent Street is one of the most memorable parts of hiking in the Grampians and a definite highlight on the way to the Pinnacle. Starting from the main street car park in Halls Gap, the trail takes you through bushland before gradually climbing into rocky terrain. Along the way you’ll encounter plenty of scenic spots, but Silent Street really stands out.
It’s an incredible natural passage, a narrow walkway framed by towering rock walls that seem to close in around you as you make your way upward. The path is well-marked and has sections of stone steps to help you navigate through the tight formations. Walking through this striking corridor feels almost otherworldly, and the sense of scale when you look up at the rock faces is truly impressive. For us, it was the second highlight of the hike after reaching the Pinnacle lookout itself.
The walk is rated moderate, and while there are some steep and uneven sections, anyone reasonably fit should have no trouble. Take your time, bring water, and enjoy the changing scenery along the way. If you’re visiting Halls Gap and planning to explore the Grampians, don’t miss this – Silent Street is both unique and...

Walking within it all, one feels like a mere speck of dust between heaven and earth—small, yet full of reverence. The sense of awe comes not only from the grandeur of nature but also from a profound inner resonance: a dual awakening to both power and...
