The road leading here seems pretty tough, and that's even before climbing up Jacobs ladder .. The signs are not very easy to find and I tried to hike to the summit, prob lost my way and still am not sure if I did actually make it to the summit πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The view is beautiful and it's much quiet as compared to other national parks, most people drive up to see Jacobs ladder than to actually hike around. Might come back again in winter to experience some snow β˜ƒοΈ Update 2023 July Came for snow! For some reason the road seems easier to drive this time round. We drove to lower car park and took the shuttle bus up. Shuttle bus was about $22.5 return. We didn't get to do any snow activities as there isn't enough snow. But we hiked to the summit! ❄️

Amazing views, freezing cold. Great day. Call into the base station to collect your chains and national park pass. If you are caught without them the fine is over $400. The drive to the base of the climb is very easy. The first stop is great for photos. Usually a park ranger is sitting here to catch you without a pass or chains in winter. The drive for the next section. Take it slow and easy. One way for the most part so give way to those that are driving down. It’s not for the faint hearted. But wort it. The look out is beautiful. The station is clean warm and very new. Had a great day. Stop in at the bottom for a coffee and a pie. They are home made and taste great.

Went up to do the summit pre winter!! Its still cold up there lol. Recorded temp was 3degrees.. where is summer?? Didn't make it to the top of the summit due to a 2yr old I was carrying and was starting to get dark!! Beautiful place! Went there in August 2018 when the snow was falling and I really can't fault the place! Customer service during the winter was amazing the staff also entertained my then 1 and half year old because she hated the cold. And this time round we were lucky enough that there were a couple of people at the cabin doing fix ups before the winter sets in, they were also very helpful to us!!

If you like rugged journeys. Off the beaten track. Then this is for you. The mountain area is beautiful and the bus 4w drive is an experience. The Jacobs Creek track up is outstanding for views but if you don't like heights or long drops I suggest you close your eyes until you reach the top. Once your there your greater by the Cafe, toilets, shop ski lifts and walking tracks. There's occupation but best to investigate that if you want go stay. A wonderful afternoon spent exploring a beautiful area. I suggest a good warm coat or thick jumpers, long pants and walking shoes. If you are limited by your mobility there is a walking track up to the Cafe but you will encounter high steps. Also you will need to be able to get into a 4w drive. So wheelchair users could find it very challenging. Best to ring ahead and find if there any...
