What a hidden gem this National Park is. It is only a short drive from Dingo so fuel and supplies are not an issue. The road in is sealed which is great but it is very steep and long climb in. It is recommended that only light weight trailers are towed and that is good advice, the camping ground does not cater for caravans anyway. The camp sites are numbered and must be pre-booked which is easy to do on-line. The look-outs are all spectacular and there are numerous walks, all of which are great. The Rainbow Falls are the equal of those found in the Kimberley or Karijini. The camp ground on the Mimosa creek is excellent with large private area's with plenty of room however vehicle parking is restricted by bollards and only a few of the sites have enough parking for trailers. The 4WD track has only one main point of interest in it's 37km which is another spectacular lookout, the rest apart from some interesting rock formations is largely scrub. 98% of the track could be driven by conventional vehicles but the remainign 2% is high clearance 4WD with a steep climb and decent to the lookout and a couple of places where the wrong line could be costly. If you are not confident there are other spectacular lookouts to see. If you do travel with a caravan leave it at Dingo and day trip into this park, it...

From the highway there’s 23k’s of sealed road then 8k’s of gravel to camp site..mostly third some second gear, one small section fist gear..will suit 2WD or better with camper – small or med caravan with a good 4WD..40% of the gravel road is semi corrugated..if it’s been raining for awhile I would give 2WD a total miss.. Peaceful surrounds plenty of bird life..fire ring at every site..toilets 60 mts away..no wireless internet or phone service..plenty of walking tracks..An idea get up early do your walk in the morning fresh air then go an have your bacon and eggs, once the sun is up the heat rises you wont enjoy your walk as much I didn’t..Tracks could be more well signed or defined, other worn tracks blend off the main track and I fond myself going different direction a few times ..The 7k gravel road to Rainbow water falls car park is ok with some corrugation, then walk to the falls a cruisey 2k’s downhill and a good cardio workout back up, the waterfall itself was disappointing from the lack rain fall over the area in the last 6 mts. The park needs some rain to green the place up a tad still and enjoyable trip again will return, the wind is whistling through the tree tops time for a...

Fantastic walks and not as many k's as Carnarvon Gorge, as usual Carnarvon gorge rangers closed the park due to a bit of rain or smoke and went on leave for Easter leaving many dozens of camper's with no where to go. We all holed up at Rolleston Caravan park and compared horror stories at how incompetent both the National Park and the staff from Breeze Big 4 Takarakka were. A txt msg when we were 2hrs away on Good Friday was our notice🤬, we had fun finding emergency accommodation that wasn't booked out, a big shout out to Rolleston caravan park for going above and beyond for all us stranded campers👏👏 Clearly Takarakka didn't want anyone there as apparently there was "nothing for us to do with every activity closed and no drinking water". And Breeze Big4 Takarakka have the audacity to only offer us a credit and refused to refund us after wasting all that money on fuel and another $1300 on accommodation. So yeah, drive the extra hr to Blackdown Tablelands were you don't need the stars to...

We stayed at Munall Campground, which each camp spot has plenty of space and the vegetation provides ample barrier between you and other campers. Each camp site was different sizing but they all appeared to have their own fire pit and log style seating around it. A beautiful campground with a creek running by it. The water appeared a little stagnant with not too much flow at the time of visit but I can imagine after some rain it would be a great spot to sit with an afternoon beverage. I would highly reccomend a 4wd to go in as it was a very bumpy ride in even with our 4wd, the road is very corrugated. Although we did find other 2wd there surprisingly. Also you will most likely have some vistors such as maggies and goannas (we were lucky enough to have three) Rainbow falls, the Gudda Gumoo Track is only 8km further past the campground turn off but reccomend getting there early if youd like the swimming hole to yourself as it gets very busy!
