Went there for some 4x4 it was amazing. Amazing views definately unmatched. The 4x4 experience wasn't too bad either. We took wombeyan caves road from Mittagong and exited it on Taralga Road. Very good 4x4 experience. Not too difficult, but we did it during rain so there were many water puddles and the creek crossings had some water flowing over them. Some parts of the trail were quite challenging and the ground was erupted. Definitely need a 4x4 (no sedans or AWDs) and need decent ground clearance as ruts can get pretty deep. You prolly couldn't do it in something like a Rav 4, but in a Fortuner it should be easy. Still it requires driver skill and experience as on one side is a cliff and other is a mountain. The track and variables sometimes force you to go too close to cliff or tilt your car a lot. I'd 100% recommend to those with a 4x4 to explore...
