Cudgen Nature Reserve — Attraction in Bogangar

We enjoyed a peaceful morning paddling our kayaks around on the lake. We saw black swans, water hens, herons and eagles.

The water was clean, I only saw one piece of rubbish (which we took away).

The carpark at the end of Tamarind Drive is great for parking with the trailer and the ramp makes it easy to enter and exit the water.

We didn't stop for a picnic today, but there are tables there if we wanted...

This place is in an appalling and neglected state with squatters everywhere, piles of rubbish and the stench of raw sewerage. The road to the lake is blocked by squatters who have built lean-tos on the lane way. Have never seen such a terrible nature reserve. Even the wild animals...

Great place! It was very still and hot one moment, and then extremely windy the next.

There’s a boat ramp making it very easy entry for kayaks - there’s a few covered benches with some shade too.
