Was here in May 2017. When we drove in (admit late in the day) I could not believe the untold amount of birds on the lagoon all the way around the drive to the north. I got out to take photos of a northern lagoon and snapped a photo of thousands of waterbirds taking off. When we drove back, we spied a wallaby right beside the road that did not mind us stopping for a photo (from inside the car). Amazingly, on the drive back hardly a waterbird was left. It was if we happened to pick the time of day they all left for the night. I can imagine someone arriving then and thinking, 'Where are all the birds?" When back in that area we will make sure we get there around mid-day. The sun was too low for us for good photos. Would be magic to camp there...
