A great piece of WWII history on Morton Island, easy to find if you're using your GPS, but the turn off wasn't sign posted as we were driving south along the beach. Keep an eye out of a yellow prism atop a pole in the dunes, thats the turn off....or just follow the tyre tracks into the dunes Would have been nice to have had some signboards or placards with information on the site. If you found this review helpful, hit the thumbs up below!

One of the two removed canons is at the Gympie Gold Mining and Historic Museum. 155mm gun a US M2. A copy of a French WW1 design. Or 6.1 inches. It was metric before Australia went metric!

Amazed by how the bunkers would have been made back in the time. Well hidden by vegetation, but sadly hasn't stopped them being graffitied.

Interesting bit of ww2 history. Gun emplacement for protecting approach to Brisbane. Still intact, but no actual artillery, just the concrete. There is also an underground concrete bunker...
