Lake Murphy Conservation Park — Attraction in Broadmere

Possibly the worst example of a conservation park ever. It's a picnic area with no ecological significance. As usual for Qld it is a place for freeloaders to wreck by burning habitat, and as a consequence there is zero mid and understory, apart from weed grass. However, it is a great place to witness desertification as there is remnant rainforest being replaced by dysfunctional woodland trees and nothing else. Very little bird life apart from common, large species. Brings tears...

A nice camping and picnic area with the usual basic facilities in good condition. A nice nature walk even if the lake is dry. Plenty of wildlife. This is a good place to spend a night when traveling around the Sandstone belt...
