One of the highlights of our visit to Burra, Redruth Gaol is a imposing and somber building with a interesting history. It's been a goal, a reform school and was also the setting for the 1980 Australian film, Breaker Morant. We were lucky enough to have the entire building to ourselves during out visit, giving the goal a somewhat spooky atmosphere. There are plenty of informative displays throughout pertaining to the buildings history as well as toilets onsite. As usually for Burra, a Key is required for entry and this can be obtained from the Visitors information center in the...

Very atmospheric, with the passport key you get from the visitor center you can let yourself into the jail, more often than not you'll be the only people there. There's not a LOT to see because it's a relatively small jail but the atmosphere is brilliant and the information on the walls is...

Well worth a look if your in the area. Will need a key from the infomation center as well. Place is well looked after and in realy good condition for its age. Lots of history about the place is there and all displayed very well.
