What gob smacking scenery! The whole area is huge hills of red rocks. It really looks like some giant has come along and crumbled up all the hills. The colours are brilliant - blue sky, red rocks and green vegetation! The Ngajarli Trail is a short stroll, wheelchair accessible, up to the petroglyphs with interpretive signage. Some of the petroglyphs are easily spotted whilst others you really need to put your 'where's Wally' glasses on.

Murujuga National Park in Karratha is worth a visit, but be prepared! Bring water and wear hiking shoes for the adventure. Exploring the entire park may take about half a day, so plan accordingly. Keep an eye out for wild kangaroos hopping around—it's a unique sight! While there might not be many attractions, the park offers a great workout opportunity. Embrace nature's beauty and get your exercise fix here!

An absolutely beautiful location with indigenous artwork on display. Very accessible and well laid out information along the short walking track. I only posted a scenic picture of the park in the distance as it is disrespectful to the indigenous culture to take pictures of the artwork

Very hard to find this site of Aboriginal rock art. Almost no signs lead to the right place where you can see and explore the rock art on your own. Drive in the direction of Hearson’s Cove, then go right to Deep Gorge. The road becomes hard to drive on, better only go with a 4WD. Eventually two signs show you are at the right place and you start to walk onto the track to your left until you reach the rock piles (5 min max). Many small paintings and carvings to see, but not easy to walk around. It’s a shame that this place is not better signposted with more explanations or even a visitor’s centre offering tours. Do not go to Withnell Bay as suggested on the parks website (!?) as the driveway ends and there are signs that forbid trespassing. Really the worst signposted National Park we have come...

If you’re looking for the rock art go to Nganjarli not here. This spot is the northern entrance to the park which is closed, but you don’t find out until you go down a 5km really rough 4WD track. This is all really poorly signposted and the parks website is not clear about it either. Really disappointed in WA Parks lack of investment in such a culturally important place. It’s almost like they want people to forget it’s here so the mines can expand. Sad to see big industry spouting out pollution right next to this...

Went to Karratha tourist information the other day. They gave us directions to Murujuga National Park.We drove in there and found a closed gate and a camera. Apparently you need to book a tour through another agency!!! There obviously needs to be better cooperation between the powers to be. So this hugely important site is visited and complemented not criticised. I know there is a big eye saw next door. Let’s work together and make this icon...
